Leo's POV
We hopped into Donnie's lab. I placed her on the work table. He began examining her. He had his tongue out in concentration as he looked over her. He grabbed a pair of glasses that helped magnify his vision. He closed the portal, and put the portal generator in his desk. I saw April walk in. She pointed at the girl.
"That's her! Is she ok?"
I nodded towards her and shushed her. I don't want to startle her when she wakes up. I kept hearing Donnie speak. "Hmm... aaah... oh goodness... interesting...". He kept repeating phrases like that. He pulled out one of her wings. He plucked off one of the feathers and began to examine them.
"Raven... interesting."
Was all he said. He began to patch up her wings. They were pretty beat up. He put wraps around them and plucked out some feathers that he called "blood feathers". Apparently she could bleed out because of them. He put a wrap around her stomach and washed the sweat off her forehead. He left the lab to grab some water, April followed him. I stayed in and walked over to this raven girl.
I looked down at her features. Her lips were pink, her cheeks were drained of color. Her braided hair had fallen out a bit and framed her face. Her eyebrows were furrowed in pain, I knew that face all too well. I began having flash backs to the second invasion of the Kraang. Shredder dislocated my knee, it seemed it would never heal. My flair ups were unpredictable too, I could be eating a slice of pizza and my knee would just feel like it got stabbed.
I brushed the hair out of her face. It was soft and silky, it surprised me. She looks so mangled and tough that I didn't think anything about her would be soft. She definitely had muscles from fighting too often. I wonder what she's like? Is she calm? Fierce? Funny? Questions about her flooded my skull.
Donnie had to remove some of her clothing to get to the wounds. Her breasts were covered by an off white piece of cloth that tied them in place. Her shorts were tattered and falling apart. April's gonna have to help her buy clothing.
I looked down at her leg injuries. It was hard to see since her leg hair had grown out. I guess she didn't have access to personal care products? I frowned at the sight of her legs. They were no less battered than the rest of her. Burns. Cuts. Bruises. What happened the this poor girl?! I replayed the situation in my head. Her attempted escape. She probably got shot a total of 20-23 times. How'd she get that cut in her stomach? I guess Donnie had to fix some internal organs too. How is she still alive? It's almost ridiculous how beat up she is. I felt horrible for her and only wished her the best of luck.
Donnie came back in and stretched. I guess he noticed the look on my face. My stoic walls had broken.
"Leo are you crying?"
I hadn't even noticed. I wiped my cheeks and I actually was crying. I wiped my face off a little and shook my head no. He cocked an eyebrow(?) at me. He knew I was lying.
"Leo I saw tears. What's going on."
"Allergies."
I said quickly. I put my stoic walls back up, I couldn't seem weak around my brothers. They relied on me and if I'm weak then... I didn't want to think about it. I'm strong and stoic. Donnie walked back over towards the girl.
"What do you think happened to her?"
I thought for a bit. All I could see was her torture, I hope she wakes up soon. I looked at Donnie and decided to spill my beans. He knew something was up and he was too smart for me to lie to him.
"Is it wrong I feel... connected to this girl? I get what's happening to her. I was injured like that and-"
I sighed. Donnie put a hand on my shoulder and gave me an empathetic look. The girl looked liked a counterpart of me. Sword, dressed in blue, severely injured. Her experiences brought me back to my own injuries and failures.
