I looked down at the stick in my hands and sighed. I saw this coming, I knew this would happen. I guess I just wasn't prepared for is it really was positive. I threw the stick onto the side of the bathroom sink and felt my stomach turn. The two pink lines meant positive.
Pregnant.
I looked at myself in the mirror. Me and Leo weren't married, just engaged. Yes, he did propose to me. It wasn't as magical as television made it out to be, but it was still pretty awesome for Leo to get down on one knee and tell me his eternal love. We were going to make it official on the full moon at midnight at the docks of our first date.
I faded back into reality. I took the pregnancy test into my pocket and walked out of the gas station bathroom, getting into the car. I hopped into the front seat, Leo was in the driver's seat. He smiled and pecked my cheek. He asked if I was ready to leave, I nodded. Leo turned the key and began to drive. He broke the silence with a question.
"Hey, just out of curiosity. How come the people in New Hartford didn't care that you had raven wings."
"At first, I got some weird stares and a lot of 'nice costume!' Stuff. But soon people began to question me. I said they were real and people seemed more intrigued than scared. I soon opened my own place and the rest is history."
"That's good."
He began to drive again. Vivian and April sat in the back talking about whatever came to mind. April changed so much... and so did Leo. What did I miss while I was gone?
"Anything fun happen while I was gone?"
April smiled, and Leo did too. April gave Leo a begging look. She obviously wanted to say what happened while I was gone.
"Well, I married Donnie! I'm his full-time lab partner and we're thinking about either having a baby or a cat. We're still debating which. Speaking of baby! Raph and Mona are going to have a baby of their own! Oh and Renette decided to live in the past with Mikey. Casey is a full-time hockey coach now too. Karai and Shinigami got married recently.
"Sounds like everyone had their happily ever afters."
April giggled and Vivian slapped me in the back of the head.
"I haven't gotten mine yet!"
I smiled gently and pat her. Tears began to well up in my eyes and I began to cry in the car. Leo looked over at me suspiciously and asked if I was alright. Everyone else in the car seemed very suspicious as well.
"I'm fine... I just think it's so sad Vivian hasn't found someone yet."
They all nodded and went back to talking. How am I going to tell Leo that I'm pregnant with his first child?
.............................................................................
We arrived in the lair. Leo parked perfectly just outside the turntables as always. I walked out, barefoot as usual and the nostalgic smells assaulted my nose once again. They brought back fond memories of when I was still a teen.
Confused and lost were the only adjectives to describe who I was at the time. Things were tough and scary. I'd lost everything, I'm glad I didn't though. I'm glad I have Vivian, though I'll never stop mourning Emily and Payton.
My bare feet touched the freezing ground sending a chill up my legs. It was always cold in the sewer, no matter what the season was. The lair's look hasn't changed much either. The pinball machine were the same. The couch was new though. The television was still there, and so was the mountains of VSR tapes.
I heard Leo call for Raph. He stepped out of his room and yawned loudly, scratching his side. He pulled his mask up from around his neck and adjusted it on his head like it usually was. He looked at me and smirked.
"Looks like Raven girl lived after all."
I nodded silently. Raphael looked tired and worn out. And he was growing stubble around his mouth. I saw Leonardo roll his eyes.
"You really need to shave Raphael. You're a turtle, not a savage."
Raph looked like he was about to tackle Leo. The only thing saving my baby from not have a father was a woman groaning from the room, and then a shriek. Raphael, rushed into his room quickly and slammed the door shut. Leo let out a chuckle.
"Parents..." he smiled gently and looked over at me. "Ever wonder what it'd be like if you had a kid?" Wow... I don't have to wonder...
"Uh... yeah... but it's scary... you would never want kids so I might as well forget about it and-"
"No... I'd love to have a baby some day. I've held a baby before and it just really inspired me to be a father... I really thought I'd be the first dad but Raphael beat me to it... probably by a long shot."
I need to tell him...
"Meet me in your room in about 15 minutes."
He nodded, and walked off into the kitchen. I ran into his room. I pulled the pregnancy test out of my pocket. The two lines haunted my memories. At least he said that he wanted to have kids... but I'm not ready and neither is he!
I found ribbon. It was pearly white and shiny. I tied a pretty bow around the stick. I felt nausea kick in. I couldn't tell if it was anxiety or morning sickness. Either way, I had to sneak into the bathroom and vomit.
After I came back, Leo knocked. I told him to come in. He had his mask hanging around his neck, his big blue eyes were unobstructed now. I wonder if the baby will have his eyes? Or will it have my (e/c).
"You wanted to speak with me?"
He asked as he sat down on the bed next to me. He noticed I was hiding something behind my back and tried to take a sneak peak. I only held the test harder in my hand to try to conceal it.
"I-... I just... the thing is.... I- I'm..."
Words aren't going to work in this situation. He's going to have to see for himself.
"Hold out your hands and close your eyes."
He did as I asked. I placed the pregnancy test gently in his hands. I told him to open his eyes. He held the test in his hands gently. It took him a minute to figure out what it was. When he finally figured it out, his eyes widened and he dropped the stick.
"You're pregnant."
He was frozen. He probably hates this. We're not ready for a baby!
"Is this a sick joke?" I looked down and tears began to well up. "This isn't a joke is it... this is real... we're having a baby... we're having a baby!" He hugged me close and I could feel his tears stream down his cheeks and onto my shoulder. "WE'RE HAVING A BABY!" He shouted excitedly. He pushed me away so he could look at me. "Thank you!" I smiled as I cried too.
"Why?"
"Because you're giving me a kid! I'm ecstatic! You have no idea! Have you thought of baby names yet?"
"No!" I giggled out. "I don't even know the gender. I'm only a few weeks pregnant." He hugged me again, but pressed on my breasts wrong. "But please be careful! My breasts are super sore!" He pulled away and apologized, but he still smiled at me with those big pearly white teeth.
I have a feeling that this is only the beginning of our new adventure. Not the kind where you have to fight and you're afraid... but this kind where you get to experience new things.
Should I continue with pregnancy and kid stories? Or should I end it here? Because either way is fine! Comment what you want!
