Leonardo's POV
It's been 1 year since she left. I've searched fruitlessly for the raven girl but it seems she is much stealthier than I once believed. I wonder if she's healed? I wonder how she's doing? Today was one of the days I was reminded of her... which sucks because when I meditate, I require a peaceful mind.
My mind was anything but.
"What distracts you my son?"
I heard my father behind me. He comes around in apparitions every once in a while to give me advice. After all, I was the new Sensei and leader of the Hamato clan, and I'll take all the advice I can get.
"(Y/n). She's a raven mutant who lost her family. She was a leader and her story is eerily similar to mine. She flew far away a year ago and I miss her... I only knew her briefly but I hope to see her again."
He stroked his long beard like he always did when he thought. Why couldn't I be more like my father? He was wise and kind, I was still a kid to say the least! I don't think I was ever suited to be the leader and Sensei of the Hamato clan.
"I understand that she ran away. Why do you think she ran away? Maybe that will determine wether or not she comes back."
"I'm not sure father."
"You are ninja. You are perceptive. Think Leonardo."
I thought about that night. I think I know why but... what if I'm wrong. I curl my fingers into a fist on my knees and spoke.
"I was flirting with Karai and I said that I saved her. I made her seem weak in front of a possible advisory and it struck a nerve. She was already injured and we had just made a pact that we were equals and to stick together. I broke that pact. She ran away. I betrayed her trust."
My father looked at me with those wise eyes. Even if he was gone, his eyes still seemed more alive than ever.
"So Leonardo, will she come back? Will she ever treat you the same?"
"No father."
I lowered my head in shame. I caused my own pain and now I have to deal with it. Raphael peaked his head in.
"Who are you talking to?"
"No one." I sighed aloud and stood up. "Don't worry about me. It's our mutation day, get out of here and have fun!"
He rolled his eyes and walked into the dojo. He leaned against the tree that grew in the center and looked at me with those hardened green eyes.
"That's the reason I came in here. You've been sulking around in here all day. Don't you think it's time to come out and spend some time with your family? I know you're the Sensei and all but no more sulking. Or I'll drag you by your mask tails and force you to eat some cake, and trust me! I seriously would love to do that right now, so don't tempt me Leo."
I smiled and stood up. I punched my brother in the shoulder.
"You couldn't if you wanted to."
He glared at me and shrugged. Before I knew it he had thrown my over his shoulder and ran out of the dojo yelling.
"I caught a wild Pokémon! It's called the sulking Leonardo!"
I punched the back of his knees making him cave in with a shriek. I pinned him to the ground.
"Unbalance your opponent Raphael, it's a sure fire victory."
I got up with a smirk on my face. I dusted myself off and walked into the kitchen. April and Donnie were in there throwing confectioners sugar at each other. I smiled at the two.
