Clarke's heart was hammering in her chest as she walked along the crowded corridor. She'd practiced her speech over and over again since the early hours of the morning. She rubbed her hands together as she approached the door. Her mouth was dry and her palms were sweating. Was she supposed to knock or just walk in? Technically it was still her home, but she'd left so did she still have the right to call it her home. She shook her head and pushed the door open.
"Bellamy?" She called out.
No answer.
She walked in and closed the door behind her.
"Bellamy?"
Silence.
She tried the bedroom, only to find that empty as well. She searched every room until she was certain that the place was deserted.
He must have already left, Clarke thought to herself. She left the apartment and found herself in the flow of bodies, tiredly walking towards the canteen for breakfast. Perhaps Bellamy was already there.
She arrived and looked around eagerly for him, only to find he wasn't here either. She spotted her mother and Kane sat alone in the corner and decided to try asking them.
"Morning Clarke." Kane smiled as she approached them.
"Morning." Clarke said back.
"I'll leave you two alone." Kane smiled and took his empty plate to the plate rack.
Clarke sat in his empty seat across from her mother.
"Is everything alright?" Abby asked when she saw the bags under Clarke's eyes.
"I don't know. Have you seen Bellamy?" Clarke sighed.
"Not this morning, no. Did you guys have another fight?" Abby asked with concern.
"Kinda. Mom I think he's left me for someone else." Clarke couldn't hold back the tears.
"Oh Clarke." Abby said, reaching out and hand across the table.
"He wouldn't talk to me last night so I stayed with Raven and Zoe but I need to talk to him." Clarke sobbed.
"I'm sure he's around here somewhere Clarke, there's only so far he can go." Abby smiled.
"What if he left?" Clarke said.
"I don't think he'd just up and leave. Not when you're pregnant with his child." Abby said.
"I don't think that matters anymore Mom, he's already slept with someone else." Clarke said bitterly.
Abby was speechless. After the conversation she'd had with Bellamy, the last thing she ever expected from him was to cheat on Clarke.
"We'll find him." Abby nodded. "Then he can explain why he's broken my daughters heart!"
"I don't know where to even begin looking for him." Clarke sighed.
"Well we're not going to find him sitting here. Come on." Abby declared, pulling Clarke up to her feet.
Together, they searched high and low on the ark as well as the surrounding areas outside. They asked the guards on the gate if Bellamy had left camp and Clarke didn't know whether to be relieved or more nervous when they confirmed they hadn't seen him.
"He has to be here somewhere, don't worry." Abby comforted her daughter when she saw Clarke starting to panic.
Their search finally brought them to the councils chambers. Among them was Chancellor Jaha's office.
