So I was moving to a new city. I was from Starling City, but I needed a new change of scenery. So I am moving to Central City. I'm getting away from all of the criminals that hang out on the corners of streets waiting to mug you. I''m living by myself near this big, scientific building that seems to be getting a lot of attention today.

"Hazel, it's just a job interview nothing to worry about." I told myself. I had to get a job. Have to pay the rent somehow. So, I got a job interview at Central City Police Department to become a Forensic Scientist. I was an assistant to one in Starling City. I left my apartment wearing blue skinny jeans, a long sleeve black shirt, and a white coat. I have been studying to become a forensic scientist since I was kid.  Being in Starling City as an assistant to one became boring, when the only victims were those who killed by arrows by the Hood.

I was walking to my interview in the early morning. I walked into the busy building Central City Police Department. I walked to the front desk, "Um...hi I'm here for a job interview." I said. "Okay, what's your name?" "Hazel Raymond." "What are you going for?" "Um...Forensic Scientist." "Oh good, another one. Maybe you'll be on time unlike the one we have currently." said the lady. "Um okay." I said awkwardly. "Alright, the captain will be here shortly. He is on a case right now. He should be here in about 20-30 minutes. You can wait by his office or by the elevators, if you like." said the woman. "Thank you." "Good luck, Hazel." "Thanks."

I walked to the bench near the elevators and pulled out my phone. You know I think my uncle Ronnie lives in Central City. I think he works as an engineer at the big science building near my apartment. I think the name is S.T.A.R. Labs o something like that. I was wondering if I should contact him or not. Given the fact, I haven't seen him since my parents died. I thought for moment, I went to my contact list and went to Ronnie's contact information. I hesitated a bit. I hit call. The phone was ringing, I was about to hang up when he answered. "Hello?" he asked. "Um...hey." "Who is this? I got a new phone and most my contacts got deleted." "It's uh...it's your niece...it's Hazel." I replied. "Hazel! Hey I didn't know you were in town." "I actually live here now." "I see you decided to leave Starling City huh." "Yeah, it was starting to get gloomy and all murdery and stuff." "Murdery and stuff?" "Shut up you know what I mean." "Yeah with the Hood and all I'm not surprised. Hey maybe you and I can catch up together. See my favorite niece." "Ronnie...I'm your only niece." "Yeah well more of a reason to catch up with you. We can go to Jitters. This coffee place near CCPD. It's okay if you can't find it. If you wait near CCPD, I'll meet you there and I'll walk you to Jitters. How's that sound?" "It sounds great." "Alright cool, I'll see in 3 hours. Ok?" "Alright." "Great, well I have to go so I'll see you soon." "Alright." "Bye, Hazel." "Bye."

I looked at the time. I talked to Ronnie for 15 minutes. I sighed. I looked at Starling City news. Can't say I'm surprised to see that the only thing they are talking about is the vigilante named the "Hood". Ever since he started killing people who he thought were terrible people; the Starling Police Department has made him their number one priority target. Also, their most wanted. I was waiting a bit longer than I hoped I'd be waiting. The captain was late. I was getting nervous. I was about to leave when the captain walked out of the elevators. "Adams, is my interview here yet?" "Yes sir, she is standing right next to you." "Oh Ms. Raymond, sorry I was late. Our current CSI was running late as usual. But what he lacks in time management he makes up in great work." the captain said. "Ah." I said as I swayed on the backs of my feet. "If you will follow me, we can get this interview underway." the captain said. He walked towards his office and I followed.

I walked into his office and was suddenly really nervous. "Alright so Hazel. I'm just going to ask you a few questions and see if you are fit to work here." he said with kind smile. I smiled back. "Okay." "I see you had some experience in Starling City as an assistant to a Forensic Scientist." "Uh yeah. I had to get out of their before the vigilante thought I was unworthy of living and killed me." I said with a nervous chuckle. "Yeah, that guy creeps me out." the captain said.

The interview went well...at least I hope it did. The captain helped me when I got nervous. Other than that I was good. "So you'll start tomorrow, if that works for you." the captain said casually. I was too busy trying to understand the fact I got the job. "Ms. Raymond?" "Uh...sorry... yeah yes it works for me." I said in a smile. "Great! Now let me see if Mr. Allen has returned so you can meet him." the captain said. "Adams, has Mr. Allen returned yet from the field?" "Um...I don't think so." "Alright, so Hazel. Your new coworker, is Mr. Barry Allen. He is tall with brown hair, greenish-blue eyes. You'll know when you see him. He usually wears long sleeve button ups and jeans with a sweater." "Um...okay" I said in a chuckle. "Congratulations. Ms. Raymond."

I was waiting for Barry Allen to return. So I was staring at the mural that was in the lobby of the building thinking about my new job. I heard a boy's voice. "Sorry I can't go Iris. I have to work late tonight. The captain is also making me meet the new girl. Plus, I have tons of work to do. I'll try and see if I can get off early. I don't think the captain will let me though." said the voice. A person exited the elevators and headed up the stairs with a CSI kit. That would be the wonderful Barry Allen. Who seems like he doesn't want to share a lab with anyone.

I was sitting reading a book about Dr. Harrison Wells. He seems like a smart guy. He is the founder of that S.T.A.R. Labs building that Ronnie works at. I guess I'll just go wait outside, then. I got up from the bench. I grabbed my phone and walked into the elevator. I was walking out of CCPD when it started to rain. Great! Good thing I didn't bring an umbrella. Don't bring an umbrella it's going to be all nice and sunny today! Stupid meteorologist. I sighed. I guess I'll get wet. This city is so confusing and the streets all look the same. I was standing near the curb when a car flew by and splashed me. "Thank you! I needed that very much, jerk." I muttered. The rain was starting to pour down on me. I looked at my watch, I still had an hour and half left to go until Ronnie arrived to walk us to Jitters. Maybe I could find Jitters. I crossed the street then thought better of it, maybe I shouldn't. Then I'll really get lost.

So here I was, standing outside using my jacket as shelter while the rain poured down on me like a hurricane. Hey, Hazel here's a smart idea...why don't you go inside CCPD, stupid? This is not how I pictured my day going. I just went back inside and waited for Ronnie. I accidentally ran into someone. "Sorry. I wasn't watching where I was going." I said apologetically. "It's fine. I was the one to go running out the door." said a man. I looked up to see no other than Barry Allen. He looks like a good looking man. Wait what? "Hey um...are you..are you new here?" "Uh yeah I just moved here a few weeks ago." "Oh wait are you the new girl who's going to be working with me?" "Uh yeah that would be me." I said awkwardly. "Cool I'm Barry Allen." "I'm Hazel Raymond." Barry flashed a smile and burrowed his eyebrows. "Okay well, I can't wait to work with you." "Cool." I said nervously. For some reason, my heart skipped a few beats when he flashed the smile.

I was shivering form the cold rain. I walked out and waited for Ronnie to meet me. I was putting my hair up in a wet messy bun. Ronnie was running to me with an umbrella. "You know, when I said wait for me. I didn't mean to wait outside in the rain Hazel." "Sometimes I don't think." I said. "Let's go get you warmed up." Ronnie said as he walked with me to Jitters under the umbrella. He was warm. I loved Ronnie, he was funny whenever he came over to my parents house during the holidays. He's not that much older than me. He's a few years years older than me. Not that much though. I looked at Ronnie and smiled when he looked down at me. We arrived at Jitters and walked inside.
