I was walking back to my room when I heard someone call after me. "Hazel!" I turned to see the captain. "Captain! What are you doing here?'' "What do you mean what I am doing here? The only two C.S.I.s' I got are in critical condition. Why are you even walking around? You broke your leg in more places than I knew could be broken." Did I really do that? It didn't feel like it. "Hazel. We have to get you a place to stay." "No no I'm fine." "Don't give me that I asked some people to see if you could stay with them but no one has given me a definitive answer yet." Singh said. "Okay thanks." I said since I couldn't say no.

Singh walked away. That's when I broke down in my room. I collapsed on my hospital bed and cried. I was all alone. I was the last of family. I had no one left. I didn't know anybody. The only people I did was the Captain and Ronnie. Ronnie is dead now. I sobbed silently into my pillow. I heard a knock on the door. I opened my eyes and turned around to see who it was. There was a man in a black trench coat and had a detective badge. He looked exhausted. He was kind. "Um. Hazel? Ms. Hazel Raymond?" "Yes? I said with a sniffle. "Captain Singh asked me if I could take you in. Seeing how you are alone, scared, and broken. I thought I would. That's if you would like me to anyways I'm known for taking in broken scared children. Especially those who have lost the ones they loved and are alone." I nodded. "Is that a nod of understanding or a yes you'll live with us?" "The second one." I said seconds before I began to cry. "My name is Joe West, by the way. I have a family member who is in critical condition as well. Hopefully he will wake up and meet you." Joe said. I nodded. Joe opened his arms. "Need someone to hug?" I nodded quickly and cried some more. I hugged him and he was like a father caring for a child. "It's going to be all right. It's going to be okay." I just sobbed.
