Given the fact I have been gone for a while, I am sorry to upload such a short chapter (although it is only a part of chapter 28)! I have been super busy with my best friend and now have barely found time to write while she is cleaning up! So enjoy! Leave comments! Please and thank you!

“Uh huh,” I squirmed from her too and heard Drake come in and tensed a bit.

Even Al looked a tad apprehensive. Everyone’s atmosphere changed. Besides Kenna of course. Because she was…(wait for it)…Wolf Loved! Insert: Sporadic lights, a catchy ballad, and swooning…wolves? I shook the image from my head with a slight smile.

“Well, good to see you again,” she greeted him with a chirp.

“Pleasured,” he responded and went down into the study again. I frowned after my eldest cousin and wondered if he would ever be himself again…if he’d ever smirk, make a joke (that didn’t sound like it could be a joke but it always was), or even look at us without that growing anger and hatred again.

CHAPTER 28

“I think you upset him,” Al analyzed.

“Me? He doesn’t like being greeted?” Kenna was bemused.

Al shook his head, “No. Erin.”

“What? Well, don’t look at me like that! I was right, he was being ridiculous,” I scoffed and Al sighed.

“He’s also very overprotective,” he reminded me.

“Well, he doesn’t have to be a jerk about it,” I frowned.

“Wait, you made him mad?” Kenna blinked.

            “In theory…,” I argued.

            “Yeah, she did,” Al nodded.

            “Okay, did not!” I squeaked.

“Okay, you didn’t!” he countered but I wasn’t convinced.

“He’s said worse things to me! All I said was he wasn’t being fair!” I continued and Al put his hands up in defeat. “I’m serious!”

            Al laughed, “Aren’t you always?”

“No!” I glowered then groaned, “You guys give me headaches…do you really think I upset him?”

“Nah, Drake is tougher than that. I think he’s still moping about being here,” Al shrugged.

“He still hates us?” Kenna asked.

Al and I both nodded. “He probably will never stop his vengeful state of mind,” Al informed her.

“So he will try to kill me again,” Josh grumbled.

Al turned to him and smirked impishly again, “Well, yeah, ‘cause it’s not like you’ll ever stop flirting with Erin!”

“We were talking!” I interrupted before he could say anything else and Al just broke into laughter.

Kenna enjoyed the new change in topic and a small amount of panic filled me, “That’s all flirting is: talking. Silly Erin.”

Josh may as well have looked like a deer in the headlights, “Wait, what?”

For some reason, that made Kenna laugh harder and I folded my arms, “When you two are done being crazy, I’ll come back.”

“No! No, okay, come on, it’s funny,” Al smiled and I shook my head.

“Uh huh, you don’t find it as funny when I tease you about Sorie,” I contradicted.

“Oooh la, la! Who is this Sorie?” Kenna perked up.

Al shook his head, “I don’t know what she’s talking about…”

“Oh, whatever!” I waved my hand, “Sorie is this amazingly gorgeous girl and is the most popular in the village. She’s a hunter, too! And Al totally has the hots for her.”

“No, not a chance. Yes, she’s attractive. Really attractive. But no, I don’t like her. She isn’t my type,” Al frowned.

“Not your type?” I raised my eyebrows.

“Having types are not so wise in the game of love,” Josh added in with a slender smirk. Oh heavens, that smile…

“And you’d know!” Al accused and I jumped.

Josh nodded, “I might. Kenna rejected Garion at first…he wasn’t her type, you see. But then he made a complete fool of himself…the poor guy. Then again, it was worth it because she gave him a chance.”

Al rolled his eyes, “Not what I was expecting.”

“What were you expecting?” Kenna sniggered. I didn’t dare say a thing. If I turned this all on me, I’d gust.
