Once I got to the pub, it was almost half an hour later. The music could be heard all the way outside, meaning by the time I'm inside, I could be deaf. "ID, please."
I pull my card from my pocket and show it to him. He nods his head towards the door and I walk past him, into the club.
People were everywhere. The entire building was full of sweaty bodies, slurred words, and the unsettling and overpowering smell of alcohol.
"Excuse me?" I tap someone's shoulder to get their attention, but they were too drunk to acknowledge me.
"Um, could you help me?" I try someone else behind me.
"With what?"
"Do you know who Liam Payne is?" I ask quickly, glancing around. I folded my arms over my chest and held them tight. This is not the right kind of place for an anxious person like me.
"Sorry, don't know him," the person shrugs and walks away.
"Fine, I'll get him on my own," I mutter to myself and head towards the bathrooms. I ignore the odd glances from the girls waiting in line to use their bathroom and walk into the men's.
"Are you Ashley?" A short boy with dirty blonde hair rushes over to me and places his hand on my arm. I guessed he was Dillon.
"Yeah," I reply quietly, then knelt down beside Liam's sleeping figure.
"His heart rate is really fucking slow," Dillon says, kneeling down next to me. I placed my fingers on his wrist. Yeah, he's hardly alive at this point.
"Do we call a paramedic?" I run a hand through my hair and look around the room for anything that could help us, but you can't do much with soap and a trash bin.
"It might be a better decision," Dillon agrees and pulls his phone from his pocket. He dialed the number, then spoke into the phone. "Um, my friend is passed out on the bathroom floor of the Funky Buddha. He has a low heart rate. He's had a lot to drink tonight and he threw up then passed out-"
There was a short pause before Dillon began speaking again. "Liam Payne...a few hours ago...uh, yeah his girlfriend Ashley..okay thank you."
I felt myself smiling at the words 'his girlfriend Ashley' and I don't know why. "They're on their way," Dillon says and I nod my head.
"Oh, uh, I'm not his girlfriend," I say with a small laugh.
"Really? Oh, sorry. I figured you were because your contact had a bunch of hearts beside it," he laughed as well.
Hearts by my name? That's..weird. He hates me, why would he put hearts by my name? Dillon probably saw the hearts by someone else's name and thought it was mine.
Liam groaned from below me and I jerked my head towards him. He didn't open his eyes or say anything, he just kept groaning like he was in immense pain. "I hope they hurry," I whisper.
I got up from the floor and took a paper towel from the dispenser. After wetting it, I laid it across Liam's forehead. He was sweating rather badly and his face was red.
Just then the doors bursted open and two paramedics came in with a stretcher. Dillon and I backed away from Liam so the paramedics could do their job.
"How long has he been out?" one of them asks. He grabbed under Liam's arms while the other grabbed below his legs. They lifted him up and onto the stretcher with no problem.
"Um, like 45 minutes?" Dillon says warily and the paramedic nods his head.
"You're the girlfriend?" one of them points to me. I nod my head and he says, "You can ride with him."
