"Burger King?" Liam and I were stood in front of a building, or more specific, a restaurant, that was apparently called Burger King.
"Yeah," Liam shrugs and opens the door. I walk in with him following and look around.
There were several people shoving burgers into their mouths, children poking at their chips, and workers cleaning the floors and empty tables.
"Let's go to the lady on the left. She looks like she doesn't know who Liam Payne is," Liam whispers in my ear and leads me over to her.
"What can I get for the cute couple?" she smiles at us, completely oblivious to who was standing before her.
"Oh, we aren't-"
"I'll have a cheese burger with chips. Um, Ashley, darling, what would you like?" Liam winked at me, signaling for me to play along.
I stared at him for a few seconds. This morning, this boy almost shanked me for de-heading a water fountain. Now, he want's to take up acting for elderly women. I have to say, I'm starting to enjoy the changes in Liam.
"Okay," I breath out a laugh and turn towards the lady. "I'll have what this guy's having."
"Alright, twelve eighty-three," she smiles at Liam. I figured she was expecting him to pay since he was my "boyfriend," but I stopped that fantasy of hers.
"Here's fifteen, keep the change as a tip." She looked between Liam and I before taking my money, still grinning.
"How generous of you," Liam smiles down at me, rubbing his thumb over my arm. His arm always found it's way around my shoulders, just resting there in the crook of my neck.
"You only live once. Why not make a difference while you're at it." He smiled at me fondly, giving me the reassurance that I had said the right thing.
We found an empty table in the corner of the small building, and though there were two seats for us to sit across from each other at the booth, we chose to sit beside each other.
"So, Ashley May," Liam turned so he was facing me. "Tell me about yourself."
"Well..I'm fond of reading books, I listen to music too loud, I can't swim, green beans are horrifying when not mixed with cheese, and I believe there is life after death."
"Green beans are horrifying," he repeats with an amused grin and I nod, confirming my opinion.
A waiter stalked towards us with a fake smile and set our orders before us. "Enjoy," he does what looked to be more of a curtsy than a bow before walking away.
"Well..let's 'enjoy'," Liam mocks the waiter and I laugh, covering his mouth so he wouldn't say anything to get us in trouble.
"Okay, it's your turn. Tell me about you," I turn to give him my full attention and he smiles with a small laugh.
"I'm a big fan of superheroes, I like cuddles on the sofa, Justin Timberlake is a legend, my mom still calls me 'baby boo', and I believe that we're all put on this earth to live our own dreams and only we can decide to fulfill those destinies."
"Favourite superhero?" I circled the rim of my cup with my middle finger, staring up into Liam's chocolate eyes.
"Batman. Hands down," he lifted the fabric of his hoodie to prove his point, showing me the Batman shirt he was wearing.
"What would you do if I said I disagree?" I question, smirking up at his elated expression.
"I'd ask you why you would ever say such a thing," he grins and I laughed along with him.
