There's one thing you learn when you go out with a world-wide famous band member: don't let him bring his wallet.

"Liam, no," I groan and stop walking. He turns back and smirks at me. "What?"

"Nothing. Why won't you let me buy you anything?" he juts his bottom lip out, which only made him seem more adorable than he is in general.

"Because you don't need to. I don't need anything, I have clothes, food, and a paid off phone until I start work again in 4 months. I'm happy with what I have," I smile.

"You, my friend, are amazing. I've never met a girl that wouldn't let me buy her something," he shakes his head while smiling and putting his wallet back in his pocket.

"Good. That means I'm not like other girls; something I aim for." We walked side by side through the shopping centre, which was much larger than the one at home. And Rule Breaker free.

"Well you've definitely achieved that goal. Wanna look around in here?" I looked to where he was pointing. I saw a shelf with shirts of my favourite bands and I immediately agreed.

"Yes, oh my god!" I practically run into the store and to the shelf I had seen earlier. I picked out 3 shirts in my size and draped them over my arm as Liam walked up to me.

"You aren't gonna let me pay for those, are you?"

"Not a chance," I shook my head and walked to the next aisle. "Nice try, though."

"So you like bands, huh?" he asks, lifting the shirt on my arm to see what they had on them.

"Too many of them," I say with an eye roll.

"Is our band in there anywhere by chance?" he asked with a hopeful grin.

"Top of the list, mate," I smile and he returns one. "My favourite song is definitely Stand Up."

"Oh, an oldie!" He looked so fascinated I couldn't help but smile.

"Yeah. Is there anything in here that you want? Because I'm done," I hold up the shirts on my arm and walk past him towards the check-out desk.

"No, not much appeals to me here," he shrugs.

"Hello, did you find everything okay?" the cashier asks as I set the shirts on the counter. She was a young Chinese woman who seemed very friendly.

"I did, thank you!" I smile and she returns one. Liam and I stood quietly while she rang up my few items. I paid, and then Liam walked me out with his arm around my shoulders.

"Where to next, Hippie Payne?" I ask after we were in the massive corridor again.

"Meditating lessons?" he laughs and I join in. "Actually, I'm a bit hungry. What d'ya say about lunch?"

"Alright," I nod my head. We walk, again, side by side through the small crowds of people as we searched for somewhere to eat.

As I was scanning the area in front of us, I made eye contact with a girl who didn't look very happy. She stared at me until I looked away. Nervously, I crossed my arms over my chest and looked behind me. God, it's so easy for me to be become paranoid.

"You're alright?" Liam frowned with a worry line forming above his brown, easy-to-get-lost-in eyes.

"Um, yeah. Yeah, I'm okay," I smile. He smiled back but I could tell he was still concerned. "Really, everything's fine."

"Right then, uh, frozen yogurt?" he pointed his thumb to the left of him and I steered him in that direction. Anything to get out of this hallway.

"Are you sure everything's okay?" he stopped in the doorway and bent his knees to look straight into my eyes. "You seem uncomfortable."

"No, okay, it's not fine," I give in and drop my head. "There was a girl giving me death glares earlier and now I'm so paranoid, I feel like someone is gonna grab me and take me away."

"Well I'm not gonna let that happen. I don't like people messing with my friends," he shook his head and snakes his arm around my torso. He led me to the front counter and said, "I'm paying for this whether you like it or not. Sorry, I don't make the rules."

"Fine," I bow my head in defeat and hear a yes! from above me. I lifted my head to watch him hand over the money. "I'll pay you back."

"No, you won't," he says with a smile and leads me towards the toppings table. "I told you earlier, you've been too nice to me while I was an asshole and that ends now."

"So you want me to be mean to you?" I smirk and ball my hand into a fist. "Because I can if you really want me to. Ask Harry."

"Oh, yeah, I know. He's showed me the bruises you've given him," Liam rolled his eyes. "You know, I could probably teach you how to box."

"Thanks but no thanks. That's one thing that I would never do," I shake my head in protest and pour a scoop of sprinkles on my yogurt.

"Why? Too manly?" he smirks again and I almost began laughing.

"Of course not. It's boring," I chuckle softly, not taking my eyes away from the different topping choices.

"Ouch."

"Sorry," I shrug and sit down in the seat behind me then scoot myself closer to the table.

"Can I tell you something?" Liam asks with a serious expression, leaning forward on the table.

"Uh, sure," I nod before taking a bite of my frozen yogurt. Liam takes a bite of his own before continuing.

"I just-" he looked around the small store and a smile creeped onto his face. "I just want to thank you. I mean, since last night, I've felt this massive weight lifted from my shoulders and it's like I can finally breath again. And this is the most fun I've had in months, no lie. So, yeah. Just-thank you."

"Anything for a friend," I smile with a shrug. I leaned back in my chair and continued to eat my yogurt as Liam did the same. "You know media is gonna think I'm dating you, right?"

"Yeah, I know," he sighs. "But hey, maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing."

"Whoa, man. I may be your friend but we aren't that close." I held my hand up to stop his thoughts where they were.

"That was my attempt at a chat up line, how did I do?"

"Eh, could use a little work," I say, holding my hand horizontally and tilting it from left to right.

"Got it," he nods his head and stares down at the ground.

"Okay so I guess it's only fair that I tell you something now?" I suggest and he agrees with a nod, his mouth full of frozen yogurt.

"You're probably the first person I've ever met that I'm not shy around. Like, I'm genuinely one of the shyest people to exist, but I'm not with you and that's pretty cool."

"I feel special." His cheeks turned a light shade of red, which only made mine do the same after watching him. I think it's pretty clear that Liam interests me a lot and honestly, I think I'm starting to form a crush.

Who knew you could have a crush on someone that you've only known for 3 days?
