Ben Cook's POV

The man had brought us out to a van where we spent hours driving away from the city.
"Where do you think we're going?" Sky asked.
"I don't know, but I'm glad we're not tied up," I replied. The van was sort of dark inside. There were no windows and where we would be able to see the driver was a black panel.
"What do think the theatre is doing right now?"
"Probably trying find us."
"Ben, I still have my phone on me," Sky whispered.
"Great. Call someone before we stop and they catch us," I whispered back. Sky nodded and pulled out his phone.

Quinn's POV

When Ben came back he had two police officers with him.
What are they doing here? I wrote.
"It's okay, Quinn. Just show them what you wrote," Ben said. I handed Ben the pad of paper and he showed the cops what I had wrote about Elaine and Jeff.
"Are you sure those two looked familiar in any way?" One of the cops asked. I nodded. Then I reached out for my pad of paper.
"Can we get a copy of this?" The other cop asked.
"That's up to Quinn," Ben said.
"By all means," I said.
"What?" One of the cops asked.
"She said by all means," Ben said. The cops nodded and walked away. I looked up at Ben with a worried look.
"My paper," I said. Ben turned around and handed me a notebook.
"Just use it until you can get your pad back," Ben explained. I nodded and took the notebook.
"When do you think I'll get it back?" I asked. Ben shrugged.
"I don't know. Hopefully soon," he said.
"Why is Broadway shut down?"
"The cops think that Ben and Sky might be in a theatre. They want to knock those out before moving on to other off Broadway theatres."
"Do you think the people who took Ben and Sky are whoever I'm supposed to be with?"
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"What if the people who took them are the people who are supposed to be my family?"
"If they are then why would they take two people from your new family?" Ben had a point. It made no sense for anyone from my real family to take anyone from my new family. But I didn't remember my real family, so how would I know what they'd do and what they wouldn't?
"Why do you think I can't remember anything?" I asked. Ben looked at me with a slightly weird look.
"Why?" he asked.
"I don't know how I can go on thinking that Ben and Sky are missing because of my real family. I don't remember my real family," I said. I could feel tears well up in my eyes. Ben came over to me and pulled me into a hug.
"Everything will be alright, Quinn. We'll figure out why you have amnesia and we'll find a way to deal with it. Don't worry," Ben said.
"Can we go home?"
"I don't know. I'll go see," Ben said. He got up and left the room.
When he came back a few minutes later he came with good news.
"Come on, Quinn. The cops are letting us go home," he said. I got up and walked over to him.
When we got home I laid on the couch. Then Ben's phone rang.
"Hello?" he said as he answered the phone. I sat up and tried to listen in. But he walked into another room.

Ben's POV

After I got Quinn home I got a phone call. It was weird and similar to the other phone calls I had gotten. This one had talking, but not to me.
"What the hell? These are not the girl. Where is she?" someone on the other end said. That's when I realised that I shouldn't have said anything. But the people didn't seem to notice.
"She's still on Broadway. We don't know where she is now, but those two might know something about her," someone else said. It was a man that sounded familiar. That's when I realised that the man was Jeff.
"You know how important she is. And you are the one who is responsible for getting her back because you let her get away."
"She didn't seem to remember us. How will she want to come with us if she can't remember us?"
"Find a way."
At this point I had managed to patch the call to the police. And they were trying to trace the signal. As the pair argued over a girl I went to check on Quinn.
"What's going on?" Quinn asked. She hadn't left the couch.
"Just a random phone phone call," I replied.
"What the hell are you doing?" the phone yelled. We both looked at it with concern.
"N-n-nothing," Sky said.
"How the hell could you let them keep their phones?" the lady yelled. Jeff started apologising for the mistake. Then it sounded like Sky and Ben were getting beaten.
"Listen, if you have the girl, you have 48 hours to return her," the lady said. Then the line went dead. Quinn and I looked at each other.
"What was that?" she asked.
"I don't know."
"Are they still alive?" Quinn asked as tears formed in her eyes.
"I don't know, Quinn. They could be and they could be dead. I just don't know," I said. I was hoping that they were still alive. I couldn't think of a reason anyone would kill them.
"Who would you have to return me to?"
"Quinn, I don't have the answers you're looking for. I'm asking the same questions to myself. But I'll tell you what, no matter what you have a family with me and the rest of the cast of Newsies. And I don't want you to forget it."
"I won't forget. I promise."
