We parted ways.

We parted with our hearts entrusted to the other.

Every single moment in my life had lead up to these hours. Each step taken, each word spoken, each taunt felt, had built me that way. They made me the me I was so that everything would turn out the way it did.

She continued to lead me into the woods, the familiarity echoing around us. The grip on my hand and heart didn't waver for even a second. It was gentle, caring, yet held everything within it's command, since every word fallen from her mouth was the law to me.

My heart beat was erratic. My palm sweat in hers. I could feel the ghost of her lips against my skin, the faint sweetness already leaving me hazy.

"Tae, hold this for me, will you?" She pulled out her torchlight and handed it to me. The light from the campfire was at the brink of extinguishment, and we had a long way to go. The light flickered before casting the beam of light our way.

"We're going to see the sunrise," I said, completely clear about her intentions of. My eyes caught the tiny details that told me that we were walking on the path leading towards our sunrise spot.

She didn't respond, but that was response enough for me. We walked in silence, letting the air speak instead of our voices.

Before our silent conversation could reach its peak, we reached our destination.

The stars were splayed across the sky, creating the most unimaginable patterns and designs. The colours seen were all different, and no matter what anyone else will claim it to be, I know it to be true. I know, because I saw the entire color spectrum held in her eyes as she greeted the sky with a smile.

There was nothing more left to say. We sat in silence, content with being together. I drew my knees close to myself, trying to keep warm.

The recent moments played over and over in my head. I touched my lips lightly. Had she been about to kiss me? Did she really feel that way about me? Had she too fallen for me, just as I scraped my knee falling for her everyday?

"I'm leaving." She broke the silence with those life altering words.

"Hmm?"

"After this sunrise, I'm going back to the city."

"Aren't we all leaving?"

"But I'm leaving for good. I'm not going to come back next year for this. Or coming back at all."

"Why's that?"

"I just need to." She didn't elaborate further.

Well, she couldn't just get away with that. "And what about Jungkook and Hoseok hyung? About me?"
