"Hey, Jungkook," Taehyung whispers as they lay under the covers in Jungkook's dark room.

"Yes, love?"

Taehyung shuffles closer, "Do you get sacred?"

Jungkook turns his head to look at him, "Of what?"

"Anything."

Jungkook chuckles in the dark, "Well, of course."

Taehyung sighs, "You don't act like it."

"Because I don't get scared often," Jungkook says, turning on his side to face his smaller boyfriend.

Taehyung hums. "When was the last time you were scared?"

Jungkook thinks for a second before whispering, "When I thought I wouldn't be able to save you in time."

Taehyung looks down and bites the inside of his cheek, "But you did."

"I know. But if I didn't—"

"Then it would be my fault," Taehyung says, "I didn't tell you guys."

Jungkook stays silent. Taehyung presses his body closer to Jungkook. Jungkook's hand finds the curve of Taehyung's butt and stays there.

"Why didn't you tell us?"

Taehyung licked his lips and took in a deep breath, "Because I needed to protect and save. It was my problem with Ralph. Yoongi got dragged into it because I couldn't fight them off—"

"No," Jungkook interrupts, "he chose to kill."

"He wouldn't have to if I hadn't got—"

"No!" Jungkook snaps, "no! Stop blaming yourself! Do you victim blame others?"

Taehyung shakes his head.

"Then stop blaming yourself."

Taehyung's breath hitched and Jungkook snuggled him, "You don't need to save anyone, love."

"Why can't I?" Taehyung asks, "you would have done the same for me if it was the other way around."

Jungkook doesn't say anything because it was true.

"Why can everyone risk their lives for me but I can't for them?"

Jungkook sighs, "Do you remember that day when we took you from your home?"

"Yeah." Taehyung could never forget that day. The day they found out about his abusive father.

"I told you that I would always be there to save you. And I will always live up to that."

Taehyung just slightly smiles, "I know, but please let me save you in return."

"Love, you already have."

When the two woke up, Jungkook's house was empty. He didn't know were Jin and his mom went, but frankly, he didn't care.

Jungkook went back into his room where Taehyung was sitting with his messy hair and pouty lips.

"You're lovely," Jungkook blurts, making Taehyung jump because he didn't hear him come into the room.
