One day as Amarédasse and Alexander were spending another day together, Alexander handed Amarédasse a scroll with a seal on it. "Amaré, I would have given this to you sooner, but you are hard to find," Alexander said as Amarédasse took the scroll and began to read it. "You are hereby invited to the Masquerade Ball that will be held at the palace in honor of King Melentius' birthday,*" said Amarédasse. "It's tonight, Amaré will you do me the honor of attending the ball with me?" Alexander asked Amarédasse hoping that she would accept the invitation and attend the ball with him. "How did you gain an invitation to an extravagant affair?" Amarédasse asked filled with curiosity. "Let's just say I know his eldest son, the Crown Prince, rather well,*" Alexander said mysteriously. "And you say I'm mysterious," said Amarédasse. "I would be honored to attend the ball with you Alexander."
"Amaré, would you like me to pick you up or would you rather meet me at the palace?" Alexander asked wondering what her answer would be. "I'll meet you there at the palace," said Amarédasse. "Alright then as you wish, although it won't be too difficult to guess who you are behind a mask," said Alexander. "Oh, how can you be so sure about that?" Amarédasse asked rather playfully. "Your natural beauty and your angelic voice, they are both big giveaways'," Alexander said as he stroked Amarédasse's cheek in a loving manner.
*I'm pretty much guessing that in the days before the internet and the twenty-first century that a guy asking a girl to attend a ball with him is almost the equivalent of a guy asking a girl he likes out on a date or the prom.
*Yeah, they have no idea of each other's identities just yet.
