As the day went by, Amarédasse and Alexander grew fonder of each other's company and their affection for one another grew deeper. At the village festival that was taking place that day, they never left each other's side, and out of all of the girls who were in attendance Alexander only danced with Amarédasse. When the people of Corinth began to sing hymns to Poseidon, Amarédasse sang them as well and she amazed everyone with her beautiful voice. As Alexander listened to Amarédasse's singing he could not remember the last time he had heard someone sing so beautiful in his life.
That afternoon, Alexander to Amarédasse to a beautiful waterfall lake near the forest where the entire area was covered with flowers. When they approached the area many fairies, who reminded Amarédasse of the ones who attended her grandmother, Lady Rhea, at Olympus, came out to greet them and they performed a magical dance for their enjoyment. Underneath a tree near the lake with a beautiful view of the waterfall, there was a romantic picnic waiting for them that Alexander had set up as an early birthday surprise for Amarédasse.* "Alexander, I can't believe that you would do all of this for me," Amarédasse exclaimed with delight. "Amaré, there is nothing that I wouldn't do for you as long as it makes you happy," said Alexander. "I know that, since it's your birthday tomorrow you would probably want to spend the day with your family so I thought we would celebrate a day early." "Oh Alexander, you are so sweet," said Amarédasse. "And you are full of surprises, I didn't know you could sing with such a beautiful voice or dance with such grace," said Alexander. "It's a gift," Amarédasse said as she sat down beneath the tree with Alexander. "Well it's a remarkable gift, just like the one I have for you," Alexander said as he pulled out a small box and gave it to Amarédasse. "Happy Birthday Amaré." "Oh Alexander, you are so sweet," Amarédasse exclaimed as she began to open her gift.
When Amarédasse opened the box inside she found a beautiful gold medallion adorned with aquamarine diamonds in the form of a rose. "Alexander, its beautiful I love it, however not as much as I love you," Amarédasse said shyly as she stared into Alexander's eyes. "Open it up, there is something inside it," Alexander said smiling. Once Amarédasse opened the medallion she gasped at the sight of Alexander's portrait on the right side, along with the inscription on the left side that said:
Amaré,
My love and my heart are yours alone for all eternity.
Alexander
"Oh Alexander, my heart and my love are yours alone for all eternity as well," Amarédasse said sweetly. "I know you're wondering where I got it from. I found it at the jeweler's shop yesterday while I was searching for you, and it made me think of you. I had the inscription done while we were in the village," Alexander explained. "Alexander, no man has ever given me anything so thoughtful before, I shall always treasure it," Amarédasse said as she placed the medallion around her neck. At that moment, Alexander took Amarédasse into his arms and then the two young lovers engaged themselves in a passionate true love's kiss.
*When they first met and were starting to get to know each other Amarédasse had told Alexander when her birthday was.
