Chapter 35

Lena went and sat down on the edge of her bed and Roman kneeled in front of her. He placed his hands on her lap and the two just stayed like this in silence for about ten minutes. Roman finally decided to speak up.

"I know you heard about last night. Whatever you're thinking, just stop it. None of this is your fault and I could care less what Vince says."

"Roman you shouldn't say that. He's your boss and your job is very important to you. I can't ask you to put it on the line just so we can figure out whatever this is between us and it might not even work out." Lena said pulling Roman's face up so he could look at her. She stroked his face with her thumb taking in the sight of him. She wanted to remember this moment, just the two of them in peace without anyone saying their opinion on them. She needed to remember this moment especially after what she was going to say next.

"Roman I think it's best if we just stop this. Whatever this is between us. You deserve to be happy with someone who wont cost you your job or give people a reason to talk about your kids."

Roman looked at her like she was crazy and got up away from her.

"What do you mean end this? You mean to tell me that you're this care free woman who doesn't give a fuck about what people say about her but suddenly Vince says something and you want to give up on us. Yeah no, I don't think so." Roman said stubbornly.

"What do you mean no? This is my choice Roman and it's what best for you."

"What's best for me? If you knew what was best for me, you would know that me being with you is the best decision that I've made since the divorce. So yes, I'm not letting you break up with me." He said crossing his arms.

"Breaking up? You can't break up with someone if you were never a couple to begin with. Roman me and you aren't even that serious. We've just had sex and we happen to be coworkers. So Roman this isn't your decision and you have no say in it. I'm telling you we are over and you need to go home." Lena said with no emotion in her voice when in reality her heart was breaking on the inside. She knew she would have to say this even if that meant he would hate her. She rather have her hate him then love her and lose his job.

"I'll leave and never come back or talk to you only if you look me in the eyes and say that all this was a hook up and it didn't mean anything to you." Roman hoped that what she said wasn't true and that she was just trying to make him want to leave just so she could protect him.

"This was just a hook up and it didn't mean anything." Lena said with zero emotion on her face and in her voice.

"Alright then. I'll leave." He opened the door and left. As soon as he left she let out a sob and fell to the floor. She clutched her stomach barely being able to breath. Roman had walked passed the gang and Madison asked how the conversation went and he just looked at her with tears in his eyes and walked out. Madison instantly knew something had happened and she wasn't going to like it.

Madison rushed in with Sasha and Bayley and just held her. Sasha took over while Madison ran after Roman.
She had to know what happened and how she could fix it.

"Roman. Roman. ROMAN! STOP WALKING. Are you seriously going to make a pregnant woman chase after you?" Madison said out of breath after catching up with him.

"Madison don't okay. She made her decision and its final."

Madison didn't say anything. She just pulled him in for a big hug. He melted in the hug and just cried on her shoulder. Madison had never seen Roman cry let alone hear him cry. She pulled away and asked him what happened.

"She told me that we are over and that it was just sex and it didn't mean anything basically."

"Well that's complete bullshit and I can't believe you fell for that shit. Go back to your kids cause I know you brought them down to meet her. I'll text you an address in two hours and bring the kids." Madison gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and left before he could tell her no or ask questions.

Madison had a lot of things to do in two hours. She needed to fix this and she was gonna all hand on deck. She would damned if she let her best friend let the man of her dreams walk out of her life forever.
