Joan's POV
I turn and give Noah a small wave and take out my key to open the door. Just as I touch the doorknob, it opens revealing a not so Happy looking dad.
"Hey Dad." I smile awkwardly
"Who are you? Oh wait! You're the daughter my wife was talking about. The one who was present here all morning but then chose to runaway leaving her old parents alone!" He fumes.
I get in the house and dad closes the door behind him. I spot my mother standing a few feet away with a dissappointed look on her face.
"Ok first of all you guys won't be alone. You'll have each other. And second of all I didn't run away. I need to save little more money and before I do run away. You know, for buying food and stuffs. Wait......I almost forgot! I need a bag to carry all my clothes and food items! Mom will you help me find one?" I ask mom.
Her serious expression drops and in place of that there is an excited look .
"Ooh we can go shopping today!" She exclaims sounding like a kid in Disney Land." She's a shopoholic.
"What!? Come back to the topic Jo! Where were you?" Dad says looking defeated.
How tries really hard to look like a tough guy. But everyone knows that he's such a softie.
" I was helping Noah to shop." I admit.
"Oh that's nice of you " he says ." 'Levine I'm hungry."
"Wait wait. You're gonna completely ignore the fact that I went out with a guy whom I barely know ?" I ask stunned.
"Yup." They say in unison walking to the kitchen.
"Why are you guys like this?" I call out but they don't hear.
I look at the steps in front of me with me lips apart. I stand there for a while trying to decide whether I wanna sleep in my bedroom or the couch. After spending the whole day walking behind people my legs feel wobbly.
Ok Jo. Sleeping in bedroom means climbing the stairs. Sleeping on the couch means just turn around and walk to the hall. I calculate in my mind.
But the new packet of Oreo is in your bedroom. My inner voice reminds me.
"Do it for the Oreo Jo! I say as I clench my fist and raise it.
Every step I take I imagine taking a bite of Oreo. Somehow I manage to reach my bedroom.
I fall onto the bed pressing my face inti the soft mattress. My hands roam in the bed searching for the Oreo I left.
My hand touches a cover and I pull it towards me. I raise my head to look at my beautiful Oreo. Bur there is no Oreo! It's only the damn cover!
Memories of me eating the Oreo while chatting with Cindy flows to my mind.
"You have been betrayed by your own inner voice Jo!" I say dramatically rolling over , clutching the empty packet in my hand.
"Curse you Perry the inner voice." I gruff.
Yes I'm a 16 year old who names my inner voice after a cartoon Character.
