My Handsome Adventure

chapter 10

Joan's POV

"The woods? Seriously?" I ask getting out of the car.

"Trust me whisper I'm gonna show you something to keep in your memories forever." Noah says standing behind me.

"Like what? Edward Cullen's amazing house?" I turn to look at him.

Confusion fills up in his eyes. "Who is Edward Cullen?"

"No one." I say waving my hand in from of him.

"Well let's go. Keep a close distance." He says walking into the woods with me ambling behind him.

We have been walking for almost an hour now. Everywhere I look I see nothing other than tall broad trees. There is a light drizzle which makes the soil a bit marshy.

Noah leads the path as if he has been living here his entire life. He doesn't seem confused at all. Whereas I feel that all the paths look similar.

"Noah I'm..." I don't complete my sentence because I realize Noah isn't in front of me anymore.

I turn my head in all directions but there is no sign of him. I walk hither and tither calling out his name.

That's when I notice the small cave opening in front of me. One has to be really focused to see as it is covered by creeper plant hanging all over it.

"Jo don't you have seen enough movies to know that no one should walk into a creepy looking cave in the middle of woods in the dark that too alone!!" The voice in my head says anxiously.

As usual I decide to ignore it.

I move aside the hanging plants and step inside the cave. It's pretty dark inside. So I take out my mobile phone and switch on the flashlight.

A dim but satisfying light fills up the cave. I keep walking till the cave exit.
Once I reach the end of the cave, I stop dead in my tracks.

Right in front of me is the most breathtaking scenery I've seen in my entire life.

Fireflies dance around me in glowing green light. The plants around me wave to the slow rythm of the wind. The moonlight reaches the whole place despite the tall trees. I am lost for words. This is the kind of place I have been dreaming my whole life. All that it is missing is the mischievous young boy Peter pan. Even the air is filled with a beautiful fragrance. I close my eyes and inhale the sweet scent feeling calm and peaceful.

"Like the view whisper?" Noah's deep voice causes me to open my eyes.

"What is this place? A Disney movie set? " I ask curiously.

He flashes a sweet smile.

"Beauty of nature. Everything you see around you is an adventure waiting to be discovered. If you wait patiently this world will show you
wonders........wonders that will let you escape from reality." He says gazing  at the shining moon.

"So there is more?" I ask hopefully.

"This is just the beginning whisper."
He smiles at the moon as if to tell me that nothing's gonna be the same anymore.
