Joan's POV
"Where the hell have you been!?" Cindy's angry voice fill up my ears.
"Sorry Cin. I was having a movie marathon with Noah."
"Are you replacing me with that guy!?" She fumes.
"No one can replace you Cin. " I assure her.
I hear her sigh before continuing the conversation. "I really miss you Jo. Everything seems dull without you."
I wanna repeat the same words to her, but that would be lying as I'm experiencing the greatest time of my life.
" I miss you too Cin. "There is a long comfortable silence between us before Cindy speaks.
"So you and neighbour boy ?huh?"
I groan." We are just friends. Nothing more."
"That's what every girl says until the stomach becomes too big to hide the baby bump."
"Shut up Cin." I mumble.
Cindy talks me through her whole week until she realizes it's time to give her kitten a bath.
I scroll through my phone contacts which mostly contains the number of my relatives.
Noah's number catches me eyes. I conduct a small debate in my mind about calling him and I finally decide not to. I need some me time.
The 'me time' includes no one other than myself. I go out, eat food, take pictures, do whatever I want...all by myself.
The thought of having a chocolate filled donut all by myself excites me even more.
I jump off the bed and change into a boyfriend jeans and a classic looking flannel.
I sigh looking at my hair. I make up my mind to do a messy bun. Realization hits me as I take the comb in my hand. I don't know how to tie a messy bun.
So eventually I turn to my stylist aka YouTube.
"Man that's so easy!" I exclaim at the end of the video.
After one hour.
"This is so damn hard! I pant as the comb gets stuck between my hair.
Once again You tube manages to fool me.I get the comb off my hair and leave my hair open. It's been a while since I've gone out of the house with my hair open.
I grab a bag that contains my stuff and walk down the stairs while changing some of the settings in my phone.
"Oh God! What an amazing stunt! Walking down the stairs while staring at a phone!" Dad's sarcastic voice makes me push the phone into the pocket of the jeans.
"How many time have I told you not to stare at the phone while walking?"
I pretend to think. "Umm. I'm not very sure. I think I lost count."
"That was a good one." Mom cheers from the couch.
"Thanks Mom. Now, I'm going to have a 'me time' so don't disturb me. My phone is on silent mode so don't bother calling."
I kiss Dad on the cheek and approach the door.
"I raised a rebel." Dad comments behind me.
Laughing at his comment I get out of the house.
The dark sky looks clear. A few stars here and there decorating the black canvas. And in front of me, Noah's house. I smile at the house as memories of him fill my mind.
I shake my head. "It's 'me time'. I should only be thinking of myself." I say walking away from the house.
" First stop Golden Waffles." I plan as I plug the earphone to the mobile. Increasing the music and decreasing the world around.
