Joan's POV
I walk into ' Joe's Cafe.' a peaceful coffee house. I sit at the table close to the glass window after ordering for a latte. There is only two customers other than me. I open up the book again and start to read.
'Late midnight,
Lights are out,
People are asleep,
The clock ticks,
I create an imaginary world
because my reality has come to
an end,
And it's time for me to rest my
eyes,
But something stops me from
doing so.'
**************"Mam, your order." A girl interrupts.
I look away from the book. "Oh ya. Just keep it here."
The girls places the coffee and returns to the counter while I return to the book.
' the stars I see through my window are beautiful!
How can someone sleep when they the sky is putting on a such a marvelous show?!'
****************I take my eyes off the book to calm myself. I wipe away my tears. The memories of our midnight adventures fill up my mind. All those times, he was fighting. Fighting the things that haunts him. I return to the book after taking a sip from the cup.
' Only fools fall in love.
Guess what darling?
IAM a fool in love with you.'
*****************' If I die,
Will you move on or will you live with memories of me?
'But if you die,
My world ends.
But don't worry love,
Not even death can tear us apart.'
****************I shut the book and weep into my arms. How could've been so dumb! I should've know that I fell for a broken boy.
I wipe my face with a tissue and pick up the book from the table. Walking to the counter I pull out my purse to pay.
"Kid!" A familiar voice catches my attention.
I look forward to see the old woman Noah and I had met in the supermarket.
"Remember me kid?" She asks with a sweet smile.
I try my best to hide the pain." Of course! What are you doing here mam?"
"Oh this is my daughter's cafe." She says pointing towards a lady at the door.
"Where is that boy? You should bring him here."
She must be asking about Noah.
"Uh..that boy had some things to take care of some things. But I promise next time I come, he'll be with me."
Cause I'm gonna find him. My love.
