Joan's POV
"Cin I've just been busy..." I get up from the bed holding the laptop in one hand and walk to the table.
"Busy?! You didn't even put an effort to make a good excuse for your best friend!"
I sigh in defeat. "Okay I'm sorry for ignoring you. Now, what should I do to make it up to you?"
"Go sit in a corner and try to remember the speciality of tomorrow." She says and disconnects the call.
Tomorrow..... what's the speciality of tomorrow?
I check the date on my phone. Certainly not my birthday....shit! It's her birthday!!
"Ugh! I'm such a dumbass friend!" I scream into the pillow.
"Congrats on getting that right dumbass." My stupid inner voice retorts.
I've got to find a gift. Something memorable.... It should be so awesome that she would try crawling through the laptop screen to my bedroom just to thank me.
I tie my hair in a bun and dash out of the house. I reach Noah's house and wait for few minutes to catch my breath. I ring the bell and the door opens instantly revealing Noah with his stupid but damn cute smirk.
"I was expecting you whisper." He smiles hugging me.
I pull away as his hands tighten around my waist pulling me closer to him.
"Why were you expecting me?" I question.
"Well how can you keep your hands to yourself when you have a hot boy friend next door?" He replies as that stupid smirk returns.
I peck him on the lips." Don't provoke me to break up with you this instant, prince charming." I joke and walk past him, leaving him to stare at the door.
"So what brings you here? Other than the need to see me.." He mumbles.
I sigh flopping onto the couch.
"Tomorrowiscindysbirthdayandidontknowwhattogetherforagift." Damn I've got a good scope in the rap industry.
Noah stares at me with wide eyes as he sits beside me.
"Whisper, can you please repeat that in plain English?"
I sigh." Tomorrow's Cindy's birthday and I don't know what to get her for a gift."
"You wanna get your girl friend a gift and you came to a guy for help......and especially this guy." Noah says pointing at himself.
I lean forward and touch his cheek. "Honey, I know you're not exactly the wisest person but there is no one else I can rely on right now."
He frowns. "Well I might not be a wise person but I bet I've got the most amazing gift for your friend." He grins pulling me to his lap.
"Really?!" I ask eagerly.
He nods his head, grinning like a proud kid.
Damn this boy and his smile.
