"Up into the trees, all of you! Come on, climb! Bilbo, climb!" Gandalf called to the company.
Lillianna watched as Gandalf started climbing the nearby tree. She ran up to him a copied but struggled to climb higher than the first branch. She noticed Gandalf staff dangled in front of her and she looked up to see him motioning her to grab it. She grabbed the staff and felt herself being pulled up to a branch near to the one Gandalf was stood on.
"They're coming." Thorin yelled as he scaled his own tree with Balin.
She noticed a large pale orc enter the clearing and he looked directly at Thorin.
"Azog?" Thorin spoke.
He spoke in a foreign tongue.
"It cannot be." Thorin gasped.
Azog spoke again in his foreign tongue to his pack. Suddenly wargs ran towards the trees they were in and started jumping at them to kill them. Lillianna grabbed tighter onto the tree as she saw a singular wolf jump at the tree she was stood on making it shake. She looked over at Bilbo to see his tree fall into another.
Before Lillianna knew it, the tree she was stood in was filled with dwarves. She looks across at Gandalf to see him lighting a pinecone. He threw at the wargs who back away from the fire. He then lights two more.
"Fili!" He calls as he throws one down.
Everyone starts to gather their own pinecones and they shared the fire and started to launch them at the enemy. The wargs retreated in fear of the fire.
The tree starts to fall backwards causing Lillianna to hold on to the trunk as much as she could so she didn't fall to her death. Lillianna's eyes shoot to Gandalf as she sees him quickly move his staff to catch Dori who had Ori holding onto his foot.
Thorin gets to his feet on the trunk and starts to walk towards Azog. Lillianna loosens her arms in worry but quickly wraps them back around as she feels herself slip. Thorin runs at Azog but is knocked to the ground. Thorin stands once more. Azog charges once more knocking him down.
"Nooo!" Balin cries.
The warg bites Thorin. "Thorin!" Lillianna screams.
Bilbo stands and Dwalin attempts to but the branch he holds onto starts to snap. Lillianna tenses as Thorin wakes the warg on the nose who then sends him flying into a tree.
One of the Orcs dismounts and walks towards Thorin. He rests his sword at his neck but as he goes to swing Bilbo leaps on him and starts stabbing him.
Lillianna pulls herself up to stand and goes to grab her sword. Lillianna turns to Kili as she remembers handing it to him in the Goblin caves. Kili nods and throws it at her. As Lillianna catches it she turns to see the Orcs approaching Bilbo as he swings his sword in warning. Lillianna races over and slides next to him.
"Nobody hurts him!" She hissed in warning as she raises her sword standing next to Bilbo. She notices Thorin's eyes close completely.
She hears a war cry as the dwarves attack the wargs. Bilbo jumps forward attacking a warg before being knocked back by the white warg. Lillianna kneels by Thorin.
"Thorin come on. They need a King. " She begs as she shakes him. "Thorin, please. I need you." She gasps as she sees his eyes open briefly.
She stands in front of him as the white warg starts moving forwards to attack her brother. Lillianna hears a squawk and turns to see eagles picking up the wargs and throwing them off the cliff. She turns as she sees one pick up Thorin and his blade. Knowing Thorin was safe Lillianna rushes to her brothers side. Before she knows it an eagle picks them up one in each claw and drops them.
Lillianna shrieks as she lands on the back of another eagle and quickly wraps her arms around her brother. She turns to see the fires fade into the distance.
"Thorin." She hears Fili yell. She turns and follows his eye line to find Thorin.
Eventually they reach a rock and the eagles slowly led them down one by one. Thorin first and then Gandalf.
"Thorin! Thorin." Gandalf cries.
Lillianna is let down and races towards Kili. Kili wraps his arm around her shoulders. "He'll be okay, right?" She asks.
Lillianna watches as Gandalf uses soem kind of spell to wake Thorin.
"The halfling?" He asks.
"It's all right. Bilbo is here. He's quite safe." Gandalf responds.
Dwalin and Fili help Thorin to his feet before he pushes them away and walks towards Bilbo.
"You! What were you doing? You nearly got yourself killed! Did I not say that you would be a burden? That you would not survive in the wild and that you had no place amongst us?" He boomed. Lillianna quickly slid behind Kili fearing Thorin would yell at her next.
"I've never been so wrong in all my life!" Thorin continues as he pulls Bilbo into a hug. Lillianna peaks around Kili.
"I am so sorry I doubted you." He adds as he pulls out of the hug.
"No, I would have doubted me too. I'm not a hero or a warrior... not even a burglar." He responds as everyone chuckles.
"Where is Lillianna?" He asks as he spun around. Lillianna quickly ducks behind Kili again so that Thorin could not see her.
Thorin scans the ranks of the company till his eyes stop on Kili. Kili nods his head to behind him. Thorin makes his way towards Kili and stops in front of him as Kili steps to the side.
Lillianna gasps as she Kili moves to reveal Thorin. She quickly pushes her hands in front of her face causing the company to laugh. Thorin steps forward once more. He pulles her hands away from her face. Lillianna tenses and prepares to be yelled at.
Thorin leans forwards and kisses her. Cheers erupted from the dwarves. He pulls away and leans his forehead on hers. "I need you too." He whispers.
Lillianna starts blushing realising he heard what she said. Thorin pulls away completely before fully looking at her. He reaches forwards and brushes her loose hair behind her ears.
"I'll fix your hair for you when we next stop." He smiles as he brushes the last strand away from her face.
Thorin is pulled away into hugs from the company as Fili and Kili jump on Lillianna. They muck around for a bit until they see Thorin walk to the edge of the rock and look into the distance. They stand up and look to see what he is looking at.
Lillianna walked to Thorin's side as she looked out to see a mountain in the far distance.
"Is that what I think it is?" She hears Bilbo say from behind her.
"Erebor, The Lonely Mountain. The last of the great dwarf kindoms of Middle-earth." Gandalf spoke.
"Our home." Thorin states. Lillianna leans her head on his shoulder. Thorin looks to her and wraps his arm round her waist before turning back to his home.
Lillianna sees a bird fly past while cheeping.
"A raven! The birds are returning to the mountain." Oin cheered.
"That, my dear Oin, is a thrush." Gandalf stated.
"But we'll take it as a sign, a good omen." Thorin spoke fondly.
"You're right. I do believe the worst is behind us." Bilbo spoke as he came to rest his hand on his sisters shoulder. Lillianna reached up and placed her hand on his.
