Dwalin grabs my hand pulling me away from Thorin.
"Come on." Dwalin calls.
Lillianna draws her sword as they run up a nearby staircase. Lillianna was sure that if they survived she would often get lost in this place. Staircase upon staircase and bridge upon bridge. Lillianna had no recollection of how to get back to the guardroom let alone the door in which they entered.
"Stay close." Dwalin calls to her.
They run across a bridge. Lillianna looks to the side to see Smaug cornering Dori, Ori and Bombur.
"Hey you! Here!" Dwalin yells at Smaug.
"Come and get us!" Lillianna calls as she shoots an arrow at Smaug. Dwalin motions for them to run.
Lillianna runs across the bridge as they reach the tunnel, Lillianna turns to see they just escaped the claw of Smaug.
"We're nearly there." Dwalin calls.
There are eyes turn to see Smaug chasing Thorin.
"Lillianna follow that path. You'll meet up with the others. We will help Thorin." He mutters pointing at a path. Lillianna looks over to see Smaug getting closer to Thorin as he breaths fire causing Thorin to jump down a hole. "Go!" Dwalin yells.
Lillianna runs down the path which Dwalin said leads to the forges. Lillianna turned to look behind her before running into Bilbo.
"Where's Dwalin and Nori?"Bilbo asks.
"They're helping Thorin." Lillianna breathed as she caught her breath.
Dwalin ran in followed by Thorin and Nori not behind.
"The plan's not going to work. These furnaces are stone cold." Dwalin says to Thorin.
"He's right. There's no fire hot enough to set them ablaze." Balin adds.
"Have we not?" Thorin says turning towards the entrance to the Forge.
"Smaug." Lillianna whispers.
"I did not look to see you so easily outwitted." Thorin called to Smaug. "You have grown slow and fat in your dotage. Slug." Thorin calls as Smaug starts to hiss.
"Take cover. Go!" Thorin yelled at the company.
Lillianna ran to the pillar side Bilbo making it just before the fire blazed past them. Lillianna felt the heat surrounding her. She looked to the forges to see them burst alight. The company ran from the pillar as Smaug stated to bash against them.
"Bombur! Get those bellows working. Go!" Thorin ordered.
Bombur ran and jumped over the side onto the bellows. The fire turned blue.
"Bilbo! Up there, on my mark, pull the lever." Thorin called as he turned to Lillianna. "Go with him!"
Lillianna nodded as she ran after Bilbo. They reached the staircase and climbed till they reached the top.
"Now!" Thorin yelled at them.
Bilbo jumped and Lillianna copied as they pulled the lever down. Water burst from the faces beside them and slammed into Smaug. Lillianna listened as she heard cogs turning before she noticed everything start to move.
"Let's go." Bilbo calls to Lillianna as he starts racing down the staircase they just climbed.
They carry on running till Lillianna notices buckets flying towards them. "Duck!" She yelled to her brother as they slid to the floor. As they get to their feet again the pillar starts to shake. Lillianna grabs Bilbo to help stay balanced.
"Ahhh!" Lillianna screams as the mound they stood on breaks away from the wall and they slid down to the floor. Lillianna instinctively curls into a ball and lands on her side. Lillianna looks up to see Smaug snarling at them.
"Keep going, Bilbo, Lillianna. Run!" Thorin calls as he slips through the tunnel with the gold.
Lillianna and Bilbo start running. Lillianna slightly ahead. They leap onto a large stone and slide down it.
"I'm going to die. I'm going to die." Lillianna murmured to herself as she carried on running.
"Where are we going?" Lillianna yelled to Bilbo.
"Galley of the Kings. Did you not hear Thorin?" Bilbo yelled to her.
"Kind of busy trying to stay alive right now." She yelled back as they slipped into a large room.
Lillianna looked behind them to see Smaug bursting through the wall behind them. Bilbo grabbed her hand as Lillianna stared at the massive banner about to fall on them. She started running but they still got crushed under it.
"You think you could deceive me, Barrel-rider?" Smaug hissed.
Lillianna looked at Bilbo, "Barrel-Rider?" She mouthed at him. Bilbo merely raised his finger to his lips telling her to be quiet.
"You have come from Laketown. There is some sort of scheme hatched between these filthy dwarves and those miserable cup-trading Lakemen. Those snivelling cowards with their longbows and black arrows!" Smaug roared Bilbo peeked out from under the banner. "Perhaps it is time I paid them a visit."
Bilbo scrambled out from under the banner as Lillianna tried to grab him but missed.
"This isn't their fault! You cannot go to Laketown." Bilbo called.
"You care about them, do you? Good. Then you can watch them die." Smaug spoke.
Lillianna poked her head out from under the banner as she watched Smaug walk out of the room. Lillianna pushed herself to her feet and ran after Smaug but hid behind a pillar to remain out of sight. Bilbo followed quickly.
"Here, you witless worm!" Lillianna heard Thorin yell. She peered round the pillar to see him stood holding chains atop a large stone statue.
"You." Smaug hissed. Lillianna ducked behind the pillar.
"I am taking back what you stole." Thorin called.
"You would take nothing from me, Dwarf. I laid low your warriors of old. I instilled terror in the hearts of men. I am King under the Mountain." Smaug declared.
"This is not your kingdom. These are dwarf lands, this is dwarf gold, and we will have our revenge." Thorin called now eye-level with Smaug. Lillianna peeked round the pillar to watch once more.
Thorin yanks a rope and the stone starts falling away from the statue. A gold dwarf statue appears as Thorin swings away on a chain. Lillianna looks at Smaug to see his mouth hang open as he stares at the statue.
The gold statue starts to turn into liquid and explodes outwards on to Smaug. Smaug attempts to retreat but is knocked down by the hot liquid gold. He roars as he drowns in gold. Lillianna sighs as the room goes quiet and Smaug disappears.
"Revenge?! Revenge! I will show you, Revenge!" Smaug calls as he runs to exit the mountain.
Bilbo runs after Smaug, Lillianna on his tail. They rush outside and climb up to see Smaug flying towards laketown.
"NO!" Lillianna yells. "Kili! Fili! Bofur! Oin!" She shrieks out into the pass only for them to be echoed back at her.
"What have we done?" Bilbo whispered from her side.
