A few days later Killian got ready for school. He put in his contacts and put on one of his new leather jackets. He brushed his hair and put a small amount of hair gel in his hair.
"Well, don't you look nice? Do you have a date?" His mom teased him as he came downstairs.
"No... This is just some of the stuff I got when I went shopping with Emma," Killian explained.
"Do you still like her?" Mrs. Jones asked curiously, making breakfast.
"Yeah," he sighed softly. "I never stopped," he said. He sat down at the table and started eating cereal.
"This time it's different though. She's like my best friend now, I'm not just the weirdo who sits alone at lunch... Well I am but she sits with me on the stairs," he explained. "I think I'm just her friend."
"Well, maybe. You never know, though. At least she talks with you, and she obviously cares about you, so that's a start," Mrs. Jones said. "At least you talk to her now."
"I guess you're right. Thanks Mom," Killian smiled, putting his bowl in the dishwasher. "See you later, love you."

"Hey, Emma. Ready for another day of math?" Killian asked, going over to the table where Emma was."You know I'm not," Emma teased and smiled. "Here's the homework worksheet page," Emma said, taking out a sheet of paper.
"Thanks, Swan," he said, taking out his binder.
"Hey, when do you have math class?" Emma asked. "Like, how do you have time to do this?"
"I have math sixth period. First period is just a study hall for me," Killian explained.
"Oh, okay," Emma smiled. "I was just wondering."
They started the lesson. "I hate math so much," Emma stated. "It's just so stupid and I don't understand this."
"You're doing fine, I promise. Don't be too hard on yourself. We'll just review it tomorrow," Killian said.
"Alright, thank you," Emma smiled slightly, feeling a little better. "Can we take a break? We still have half an hour left in the period."
"Sure love," Killian said, closing his lesson book. "What do you want to do?"
Emma shrugged. "Anything I guess. What are you doing today after school?" She asked.
"Nothing, as always," Killian replied. "I might just practice some of my guitar."
"Fun," Emma smiled. After a short silence Emma spoke up again, "This is the part where you ask me."
"Oh, okay Swan," he laughed slightly. "And what are you doing today after school?"
"I'm doing an internship at the sheriff's station," Emma smiled. "I'm really excited."
"Oh that's so great, love!" He smiled back. "Congratulations."
"Thanks. Although, it was my dad who let me do it so I don't think it was that hard to get in," Emma laughed slightly.
"Hey, doesn't Graham do that internship too?" Killian asked. Not that he was jealous or anything, because he obviously wasn't.
"Oh... Yeah, he does," Emma nodded. "I forgot about that I guess."

After school Emma went over to the sheriff's station. "Hey Emma," David said, looking up from his desk."Hey David," Emma smiled.
"So, you can either answer phones today or fill out this paperwork. You only do the action things if we really need it or it's an interview type thing," David explained.
