Two weeks had passed. Emma and Graham were still dating and it was now the middle of May. To Milah's disappointment, Killian had not asked her out yet, even though Emma was out of the way. Senior prom was a few weeks away. The math classes with Killian had only gotten more awkward and tense.
They finished early because there wasn't much to the lesson. They sat in an awkward silence, avoiding eye contact at all costs.
"Listen love," Killian started to say, trying to get Emma's attention.
"Don't call me that," Emma said. "And I don't want to talk about anything either."
"Emma I want to be at least friends with you again," Killian said.
"Why? I thought you think I'm shallow and cynical. Everyone knows those aren't good character traits to have in a friend," Emma said, rolling her eyes.
"Emma come on," Killian said. "I didn't mean it. Besides, it wasn't all my fault."
"How do you suppose that is? You're the one who kissed another person."
"She kissed me, Emma. This is what I mean, you didn't trust me. You didn't listen to me. We could've moved on from it," Killian said. "You just needed to trust me."
Emma sighed and looked down. "Well I guess it's too late for that anyways."
"We can still be friends," Killian said. "Come on, Emma. I've missed you."
Emma looked at him. "Okay, we can be friends," Emma said. She got up and hugged him. She missed having him around. She smiled, resting her chin on his shoulder. "I missed you too."
Killian smiled, missing being able to hold her, even if they were just 'friends' for the moment
Emma sighed. "I'm sorry I didn't believe you…" she said, pulling away and looking at him. "I should have listened to you before."
"Hey, there's no need to apologize. Let's just move past everything, okay?" Killian said, looking at Emma. Emma nodded and smiled slightly. "But if we are apologizing, I'm sorry I doubted you. Milah got in my head."
"What happened to no apologies?" Emma teased. "Let's just move past it. I promise, everything is fine. There's nothing to worry about."
"Um, how's everything going with Graham? I haven't asked about him yet and I was just wondering," Killian said, trying to be casual.
"Why? Are you jealous?" Emma teased. The truth was, Graham was a really nice guy and he was really sweet, but she just didn't like him like that.
"What? Um no," Killian said. "Why would I be?"
Emma rolled her eyes. "It's going good, if you really wanted to know."
"Good to know," Killian nodded. He would be lying if he said he wasn't disappointed.
At lunch Killian sat at their table and everything seemed normal again. Well, except for Graham's arm around Emma the whole time.

Killian walked home and went straight up to his room. He didn't feel like talking to anybody.A few minutes later Alice knocked on his door. "Killian? There's someone here to see you. I think you'll be excited to see who it is. They're downstairs."
Killian sighed. He didn't think it would be Emma, since they were just friends. Why would she show up unannounced? Especially when she had her boy toy to play with. Killian rolled his eyes when he thought about Emma and Graham.
"And before you start putting gel in your hair and putting on cologne and looking all nice, it's not Emma," Alice said. "But seriously come down. You'll want to see!"
