Abella's POV

Feuilly came back home from the annual meeting and I welcomed him in. It's been almost half a year ever since I started to go to the Cafe Musain. And this was my first time to miss the meetings. Maybe I was just a bit too scared to see him. Maybe I was just afraid that R would make fun of me. Or maybe I was too afraid to tell Feuilly.

He took a seat across from me and I poured some vegetable soup on a plate and placed it in front of him. He nodded thanks but didn't eat.

"Don't you have something to tell me?"

I nodded. I realized one thing. Feuilly isn't like a brother to me. He's a mother, a father and a brother to me. He took care of me for all these years and I still thought that he would reject me.

"I-I started to see Jehan more."

I didn't really want to use the word..."kiss". It made my cheeks burn and my forehead really sweaty.

"Don't you mean that you two are in a relationship?"

I didn't really know if Feu was mad at me or not. He never really forbid me to date anybody, but he was just so quiet. I nodded and squeezed the hem of my sleeves really tight.

"If Jehan ever does anything to you... just know that I'm going to beat his ass up."

I was in so much shock that Feuilly started cursing but I saw him giggling so I laughed with him.

--

It was another day at the Musain, where Jehan greeted me with a kiss and Grantaire greeted me with a nudge. We exchanged a look with a smirk on our faces, and I started to blush again. Enjolras stepped onto the chair and I nudged Grantaire under the table. His face began to get red. Ha, I thought. That's what you get for making me blush.

"It's going to be tomorrow. General Lamaque has passed away, but his spirit will carry through our hearts. His funeral will take place tomorrow. So this is it, boys." He looked over at me and added. "And girls. We've been getting ready for the battle for a long time. Tomorrow is the day where everything will happen."

Everybody stopped talking and all I could hear was the sound of children laughing outside. This is it. Tomorrow is going to be the bloody battle. At the Corinthe, the schoolboys will build the barricade and fight against the government's army, who are well trained and have all the resources they need. Right when I was about to cry, someone wrapped his arms around me. I looked up and saw Jehan with his lips tilted down. Our eyes met and he forcefully smiled. Feuilly, who took care of me for seventeen years, will be attending tomorrow's protest. So will Grantaire, who made sarcastic jokes to cheer me up. Enjolras, who encouraged everyone to stand for what they think is right. Courfeyrac, who often joked with Grantaire and shipped too many people. Gavroche, who still continued to come over to get the bread crusts for his brothers and often ate dinner with Feuilly and me. Combeferre, who often looked at Courfeyrac with an awing smile. Bahorel, who often missed classes just to go grocery shopping with me. Lesgles, who told me stories about his lover, Musichetta. Joly, who often worried about my health since I am apparently a small little girl to him. And so is Jehan. Although he may look sweet and peaceful, he is a fearless man. He would fight for what he believes in.

I immediately stood up and headed to the window. The sun was going down, announcing to the city of Paris that night has arrived. Tomorrow, blood will water the streets and some of us won't be able to see the sunrise.

Short chapter! Sorry about that. Make sure you stay tuned for the next chapter! I plan to write about eight chapters and then the story will end!
