"Huh?" "Do you want an autograph?" He asked "You've got to be kidding me! Where the camera at? You got me. Totally, got me there" I laughed "What are you talking about?" He asked confused "Bash who be this girl?" He asked Bashir who just got in "You know if I wanted to write jamb, I would atleast first consider it" Bashir joked  "Guy leave that matter. Who be this babe?" He asked

"Your babe na" Bashir replied "Bansan rainin hankali fa (I don't like immature jokes)" he said seriously "Are you for real? You don't remember?" Bashir asked, he shook his head from left to right implying 'No'. Something finally hit me as I find little strength to walk away to the doctor's office, twisting the door knob and opening it to reveal the other side of the room, I closed the door behind me

"Why didn't you knock?" The doctor asked "I.. I am so sorry, I forgot to.. I could go back and knock" "It's okay. Have a seat" he offered and I took "How may I help you miss Maryam?" He asked "It..it's ab..abou..." I stuttered as my voice began to crack and I feel the wellness in my eye was about to break "It's okay, take few deep breathes" he said and I did "It's about Abbah" "What about him?" "I don't know, please you have to check him" I said with tears in my eyes threatening to fall

"Calm down and tell me what's wrong" he said "He don't remember me" "He don't? How's that?" He asked rubbing his chin "How certain are you?" "I went to check on him after a while he woke up and he was asking, who was I" I said "Hmm...that's rather strange"

"I'd check on him straight ahead" he said getting up, calling a nurse for assistance also. I waited and prayed, pacing back and forth. He finally came out with an unreadable expression "Is he okay?" I asked "My office" he said as I followed behind "Take a seat" he ordered "No I'm fine, please just tell me if he's fine"
He let out a sigh that he seemed to have held forever, his fore finger to his head which he patted and then sat down probably

"This might be difficult for me to explain.." he started "I would say he might have suffered from memory loss but he doesn't have the symtoms of Alzheimer" "What are you trying to say then?" I asked "Medical wise, there is no explanation to his dilemma" he replied, it was as if my heart stopped. But why me? Just why me? The doctor was wise enough to excuse me with my thoughts which were now aloud. I was in the exact position for an hour and I dozed off

I was sitting at the ocean bed, with every wave sweeping my feet, the seagulls perched on the ocean with the cool sea breeze, there's no place calmer than the sea. Suddenly the water began to vibrate, splitting into two as a sea monster appears.... wait it's no sea monster... it's just Larzus😡

I immediately got on my feet and looked at him with disgust
"My ex darling princess" he said "What do you want?" I spat "Oh nothing! I hope you received my present" he said snarling "What stupid pres...." I thought  and my eyes shot "Abbah? It was you? How dare you?" I said almost tearing up "Hope you like it?" He laughed "I would never forgive you for this" I cried "I don't want any of your present. Give him back our memories"

"Never! You shall leave with the agony of loving someone but not been with the person" he said fiercely "What did I ever did to you?" I asked with tears overflowing my eyes "Awww baby, don't cry it won't change anything" he said softly "You know you're going to hell for this right?" "Of course I know and you don't have to remind me" he smiled
"Please revoke it" I pleaded "I'm afraid it might be too late for that" he said

"What do I have to do?" I asked "Well you see it's very simple, he either forgets you forever or he remembers you, you fall in love again, get married bla bla and you then die 2weeks after the wedding" he said and I was dumbstruck "Come back when you need  answers" he said now seeping back into the sea "How do I get to you?" I asked running towards the ocean that is about to be completely sealed "You know where to find me" "I don't, please tell me"

"When the sun doesn't shine bright, everything peaceful, singing breeze, angry w...." he was saying when someone shook me, I opened my eyes and saw a pretty nurse starring down at me "Sorry I woke you up like that, you kept talking and moving I thought you might be struggling with sleep paralysis" she explained "It's okay" I smiled knowing she was only doing her job, I only wish I had the chance to know where exactly

I got up after smiling at her again, finally existing the doctor's office
"I've been looking for you all day, are you okay?" Mom asked "Yes ma! I am perfectly fine" "Have you eaten?" She asked "Umm...." I acted like I was thinking "Don't be silly! How many times do I have to tell you never to skip meals, look how skinny you've gotten! I bet you can't beat your younger sister Habiba now" she said

"Nooo! I am very strong, see my power" I said like a kid flexing "Where is the power? Seriously, you can't beat me" she said very serious "Kambu! Mommy warn this girl before I break her bones" I threatened "Habiba you better respect your elder sister even though she can't beat you" she teased and they began to laugh as I sighed, I finished eating in no time and my mom had packed some for Abbah. God! How do I explain the situation to her? She wouldn't understand

Staring at the door I was battling if I should go in or just walk away
'I should leave' I thought and turned on my heels when the door swung open
"Oh Maryam! It's you, why don't you come in?" Turai asked "Ohh... Umm yeah I was just coming in" I said as she dragged me in. I saw Abbah and Bashir chatting, they both stopped and looked at me

"Hii!" Bashir waved smiling and I awkwardly smiled back as I moved closer to them "Hey!" I greeted Abbah and he only nodded "This girl again" he blurted "What do you want?" He asked "I uhm... brought food" I said bringing the foodflask to display since I had covered it with my hijab "Biko! Who begged you for food?" He asked as Bashir called his name glaring at him as he shrugged "Thank you very much Maryam. We were famished and Turai was just about to buy food at the cafeteria" Bashir said collecting the food, I only smiled

"Hello? You've delivered your message right?" He asked and I nodded "Then what are you still doing here? Hit the door sister" he said as my eyes began to well up "Abbah! That is rude! Don't be like that" Bashir warned "Toh nagan ta tsaya tana zaremin ido" he said "I was just leaving" I said walking towards the door as Bashir followed me "Don't worry, this is only temporary" Bashir assured me, I only smiled because he doesn't know what's really up

"My regards to Umma, tell her thanks for the meal and we'd come check on her tomorrow" Bashir and Turai said "I'd deliver your message" I smiled and waved them goodnight. I walked to an empty room and did what I've been willing to do all day 'Cried my heart out'
