I cried in the shower and observed my prayers. I stared at the mirror and chuckled like someone who has gone insane. Indeed I am gradually losing my sanity, life has been one hell of a ride sometimes I wish I could change my fate but I really can't do anything.
I heard the door creak as I watched from the mirror, Omar stood at the door frame while Ahmad walked in
"Good night mom" He said "Good night baby. Don't forget to pray" I urged and he nodded as Omar led him to his room.I made my way to the bed as I recited some azkhar, Omar walked in shortly and laid beside me
"Baby I am so sorry for snapping at you like that, I just don't want to lose you" He apologised as I drifted
Breakfast was served in bed and every other house chore taken care of, I could tell that he is being hard on himself but I am not letting this slide easily. I did my hygiene and dressed up
"I would go grocery shopping after dropping Ahmad off" I stated as he nodded "Good morning mama!" Ahmad greeted as I hugged him "Morning my little soldier! Are we ready for school?" I asked as he nodded "Let's go!" I interlocked his little arm in mine as we headed to the car
"Damn! The keys" I cursed "Mommm!" Ahmad called reminding me of my choice of word "Sorry baby, I'm coming" I sighed and went back in to pick the keys, as I was about leaving Omar obstructed my way. As I move left and right so does he, making it difficult for me to move
"Excuse me?" I raised my brows "Baby I know you're mad and have every reason to but please forgive me while I work on my anger issues" He apologised "And who says I haven't forgiven you?" I asked folding my arms across my chest "You're acting different and you've been igno..." "Abeg abeg I don't have time for this right now" I raised my hands and slightly brushed him off as I went to attend my baby I left in the cold as I murmured under my breathe
"Mommy what is it?" Ahmad asked "Nothing" I replied "Why are you frowning?" He asked "I'm just angry that we're getting late" I said as I tried plastering a smile
After dropping Ahmad off, I decided to hit the gym. After running on the treadmill for a few minutes, I had to stop as I find it really difficult to breath, I laid on the floor and stare at the ceiling trying to catch my breathe
"First time?" Someone chuckled as I looked around to see who it was "Oh my God! Sarah!!" I squealed and jumped on my feet to give her a bone crushing hug "It has been forever!" She exclaimed "Where have you been? No-one knew of your whereabouts, your number never went through, you took down all your accounts on social media, we really didn't know how to get to you" I explained
"I moved to China to turn my life around and be a better person. I needed change and I couldn't do that at the same environment" She sighed "Not even your parents knew about your whereabouts" I stated "They brought me into the mess in the first place" She shrugged "Well everything is all in the past now. Girl you looking good" I complimented "Awwww! Girl stop making a grown woman blush like that" She smiled covering her face with her hands as I spotted a wedding ring
"Mmm I see lil mama taken too. Who is the lucky man?" I asked "Ken! Some guy I met at school" She smiled "I am so happy for you" I said genuinely "Thanks dear"
We talked about everything, we showed each other our family pictures and gushed over it. We shortly left the gym and exchanged numbers. I called Linda to fill her up with the gist as I parked at the parking lot giving her every detail of the gist
We ended our conversations by insulting each other. When I was heading to the mall, my phone began buzzing again
"Hot line" I smirked before sliding to pick "Wassup little girl" I said "Hiiiii" Habiba squealed as I moved my phone away from my ear "Girl what is wrong with you? How many times do I have to tell you to stop yelling over the phone?" I sighed "I am so sorry, I am just too excited" She said gleefully. The Habiba I know would never apologise so easily "Start talking" I said "I. AM. GETTING. MARRIEDDD!!" She yelled again "Damn! Now I know you're really trying to deafen me but wait oh, did I hear you right? You're getting married? Alhamdulillah! Finally!" I cheered "How did this happen? When is the wedding?" I asked "Don't worry I'd fill you up later with everything, I just wanted letting you know that you'd be the event planner o" She said
