"I'm sorry" He apologised "Sorry?" I asked. I wanted to yell at his face, choke him on his lies, hit him and then suddenly I felt the need not to

I felt peace, I felt forgiveness

I stared at him until he had to look away. I moved closer to him, he moved back and closed his eyes

"It's okay. I have forgiven you" He slowly opened his eyes and looked at me in awe as I smiled at him

"Are you sure?" He asked "Never been so sure in my life" "I.. I don't know what to say" "You don't have to say anything" I smiled as he smiled back, I saw his girlfriend leaning on his car, instead of glaring at me she only stared at us sadly pouting a bit

"Go meet your girl" I said "Who?" He asked almost forgetting that he's girl was waiting "She's beautiful, you always make the right choices" I admitted as he chuckled nervously "See you around, I guess" I said as things began to get real awkward "Ohh right" He said as we parted ways

That might be our final goodbye

I bumped into the wall "Ouch!" I yelped and the wall responded by saying 'Sorry' I looked up to the wall like figure to see Salim, I smiled up to him but he had a straight face on. He offered to help as I slap his hand away and got on my feet

"What was that about?" He frowned "A rude way of saying 'No thanks I can help myself up'" I chuckled but instead of him laughing back he frowned

"What's with the attitude ma?" I mocked and I swear I could see smoke come out of his ears, I have never seen this part of him before and I am wondering why he is so mad. I briefly cleared my throat

"What's wrong?" I asked as he scoffed "What's wrong?" He repeated after me and looked at me with disgust, I really don't know what's gotten into him, it's seriously breaking my heart to see him treat me this way

"Who was that?" He asked furiously as I  mentally sighed a sigh of relief that jealousy got him acting this way, I know better than to laugh at his face so instead I answered

"Your ex huh?" He scoffed again. He tried shrugging it off but instead he kept frowning and I pulled my phone to my face to bait my laugh

"What's so funny? I bet he's the one hitting you up?" This time I laughed uncontrollably "Let me see your phone" "No" I smirked and regretted it instantly, he fought his way to the phone and smashed it on the ground

"NO!" I shrieked and looked at him who's face was now flushed with guilt, I frowned and walked away

"Maryam! Maryam!.." I hear him call from behind, I turned deaf ears

"Stupid boy" I muttered. Frustrated about my phone and sleep as I kept flipping and shuffling in bed. I raised my legs in anger finally giving up on sleep

"Please o! Who cooked? I'm starving" Linda whined "See you, Lazy girl" I shook my head giggling "See I wasn't talking to you sef, you that don't know your ways in the kitchen"

"Taaa! What an insult! Wallah I am one of the best cook in this room if not this school as a whole" "Stop deceiving yourself, prove it" She always use this trick to make me cook "I don't have to, my husband would testify to that" I shrugged as she laughed

"It's like this relationship is sweeting you" She teased as I smiled "Come o, aren't you supposed to be with him sef?" She asked as glared at her "Sorry o! I just thought you should be with him since it's his birthday" She said as she gasped "Oh my God!!!" I exclaimed as she looked at me confused "I am such a bad girlfriend. I totally forgot, I have to call him" I shoved my hand in my bag and felt nothing, I then remembered what had went down earlier

"That must be the reason behind his attitude"

I stormed out of the room. I have no idea where I'm going but I have to find him somehow.
"I should get him a gift" I thought and went to the nearest gift shop

I spotted his car at the parking lot and sighed a sigh of relief. I checked his car and no being seems to be in it, leaning against it I closed my eyes a bit

"Hey" I heard his too familiar voice whisper, I smiled with my eyes still shut

"I am sorry about that" He apologised "It's okay. I am also sorry for forgetting your birthday" I apologised "It's okay. I guess that makes us even" He chuckled "Here" I handed him the gifts "Thanks. I got you a gift too" He handed a  bouquet of flowers and a new phone with 'Sorry:(' written on a sticker note

"Awww thanks" I smiled as he smiled back "How's your day going so far?" I asked "Not good" He replied "Well let's make the rest of your day worth it, shall we?" I offered as he smiled

We were all over the city just doing stuff an extrovert kind of fun. Sometimes he let me take over the wheel of course after convincing him that Linda had taught me how to drive

We briefly stopped at the restaurant to grab coffee. We were on the road, I punched the cup with my straw as I was about to have a sip

"No eating in the car" He warned "It's just a drink, I'd be careful I promise" I said and proceed to drink it totally unaware of the bump ahead as he stopped the car with full force causing me to jerk and spilling the coffee

"What did I say about eating in the car?" He asked "I am so sorry, I am going to clean up afterwards" "I WARNED YOU! YOU NEVER LISTEN DO YOU? IT IS ALWAYS YOUR WAY THAT IS THE RIGHT WAY, HUH?" He yelled in my face. He balled his fist like he was about to hit me but instead punched my seat real hard, I gulped in fear not knowing if this is Salim or someone else

He realised what he did and immediately his face got flushed
"Mar.. Maryam, I am so sorry. I didn't mean to.." My eyes teared up, I raised my hands indicating for him to stop. I got down of his car banging the door behind

I took a cab back to school

I ignored his text and headed to the hostel, this time I was lucky to fall asleep

A/N: Shocker alert; I've been ill plus school plus not feeling the book
