Omar walked out of the barber's shop with a frown on his face which might last for a while
"You look good baby" I complimented as he glared at me. Let's just say he lost a bet and had to barb his head skin. I am seriously loving his new look at least the rate of all these 'Single and ready to Mingle' girls staring at him has reduced. We once went out to eat and a girl/woman slipped her number in his pocket, even though Omar had tore the papers, I insisted on confronting her and when I did, she asked her guards to get me beaten if not for Omar and the good staff around there, my story would have been another
I never knew Omar can get insecure as he often wears a cap. Sometimes I rub lotion on his head to tease him and he gets really mad. He talked about us moving back to Kaduna and I was beyond excited. On the day Ahmad was writing his last papers, I bought a lot of gifts and gave his classmates and class teachers. Linda put to bed shortly and she had twins
"See I told you, you were going to have twins" I said rocking Kehinde (The first twin in Yoruba), She got married to a Yoruba man "And as I said before, you'd go home with one" She said making us laugh "Mommy please can I hold the baby?" Ahmad asked "Sure baby" Linda replied as she sat him down properly with his hands opened she placed a blanket in his hand, she handed Taye(The younger twin) to him and supported him with her hand
"He barely needs my support, he holds the baby pretty well" She said as she left the baby in his hands "I hope he doesn't drops the baby" I said "He wouldn't, he seems like he is ready for a younger one" She teased as I shook my head, the baby began to cry as she collected the baby "Go and meet daddy" I said as he nodded, Linda began to breastfeed her child silencing the crying child
"But seriously when would you give Ahmad a sibling?" She asked "You know Omar barely returned and I am not just ready for that right now" I replied "You better be ready o. Ahmad is almost four and needs a play mate, time isn't waiting for no one" She warned "Abeg abeg" I rolled my eyes "Me I've talked my own" She said
"Mommy, daddy is calling you" Ahmad said "Okay I'm coming" I smiled rubbing his head as he admired the baby I was holding "See?" Linda said as I shook my head and laid the baby down "Make sure you get pregnant before you return" She whispered "Ya mad" I glared at her making her laugh
"We're leaving, you know the traffic and it's almost late" Omar said "Babe please could I stay over? She has no one to help and tomorrow is the naming ceremony" I pleaded, he waited for a while as I stared up at her with a puppy face I'm hoping would work "Fine! I'm coming to pick you up first thing tomorrow morning" He sighed "Yess! Thank you" I exclaimed as he shook his head, I hugged Ahmad as I bid them goodbye
"I thought you had left already" Linda said with Kehinde on her back "Where do you think you're going?" I asked "I have a lot of guests to serve tomorrow" I sighed "And what makes you think I'd let you touch a thing?" I asked "You've been a great friend. What am I saying sef? You've been a sister and I could never repay you for all you've done for me" I stated, she looked at me with tears in her eyes and hugged me as I hugged her back
"Thank you" She said "Go and have some rest" I said as she left for her room. Her family and that of Kunle's did not accept their marriage but they went about it not caring less even if they had to cut ties with their families
Chai! Love oh!
I scanned the house thinking of where and what to begin with, I decided on cleaning and so I did. I already placed orders to caterers and the only cooking I had to do was make zobo(hibiscus drink), kunu, masa and of course dinner.
I was done by 11 and headed straight to bed. The next morning we had had our bathe before guests began to storm in, Linda being opportune to learn make-up beats her face and mine. I served the guests masa and zobo right before the arrival of the caterers
First we served the guests, then the neighbours and then Linda family came to visit but she wasn't aware yet
"Good morning ma" I squatted greeting her mom "Morning my dear, how are you?" She asked "Pretty good, thank you.. Come in ma" I offered "Thank you my child" She replied, I offered her food as I went to get Linda
"Your mom is here" I said "My what?" She asked confused "Your mom" I reassured as she began to panic "I don't know Maryam, I'm not sure I want to see her" She said "Your mom is your mom no matter what" I said as she hesitated to meet her "Now you don't want to keep her waiting" I said as she exhaled
They stared at each other for a while before her mother broke the silence
"No responsible parent would desert their child over a choice that is best and would make their child happy. I've learned to realise my mistake and I truly regret not been there for you at the time you needed someone to confide in the most, I am sorry" She apologised with tears now spilling down Linda's face as she dashed to hug herAwwww!!
"I forgive you mama" She wiped her mother's tears and then hers "Now where are my lovely grandchildren?" She asked as Linda led her to the room. Kunle family arrived shortly and I'm glad they've all settle their differences even though sometimes I catch a family member glaring at the opposite
Omar gave me a buzz and I know he was outside already, I grabbed food but Linda wasn't having it and so she packed a lot of food that I would share with the entire neighbourhood and it would still remain. I told her it was too much but she only shoo me away. On my way out, I saw all those daddies and I was mentally getting ready to start squatting for each of them
"Ekaaro sir!( Good morning sir)" I greeted each of them and got responses like "Shé da dani?(Hope you good?)" "Bawóni? (How are you?)" "Omó da dá (Good child)" And so on
Mind the spellings😂😂
"Took you forever" Omar puffed "You don't wanna know" I said as he laughed
A/N: Hiii my loves🤗! Hope you're having a good time? Have a blessed week ahead💞
