Jin couldn't get the boy out of his head.
He had been able to somewhat connect the dots about the boy he had seen and felt conflicted.
He was a protagonist himself so he knew how hard it was to deal with being a main character but going to the point of dyeing your hair to hide it never had crossed his mind. How did that even work? He had seen the blue roots of the boy's hair and was confused but then the blue just seemed to magically spread further and he couldn't help but feel even more perplexed.
It was obvious his natural hair color was blue and he was struggling to hide that by dyeing his hair. His natural hair color seemed to reject the hair dye but him being so adamant to buy the black hair dye to cover it showed that he must have been hiding his identity as a protagonist for a while. How bad did his life as a protagonist have to be to make him want to completely hide his identity, no matter how much effort it took?
Not all protagonists lives were the same, some were filled with more angst while others were kept safer and more soft. But either way it was dramatic and draining to be a main character.
That's why Jin was happy to be able to talk about his struggles to his boyfriends, he even happened to have five of them. He did find it weird at first dating so many people but he had grown accustomed to it and would never change what they had for anything.
He knew not all protagonists lived as caring and nice lives as he did but he still didn't know how to feel about the troubles that boy was going through.
He didn't even know him yet he felt a connection towards the younger and was heartbroken once seeing how scared and afraid he looked. He didn't want the younger to be scared of him after all he was a protagonist too!
"Dyeing your hair is a bit excessive." Jin said talking to himself as he finished up cleaning his apartment. "Just changing that doesn't change the fact you're a main character. You still have to struggle with whatever story is written out for you."
Thinking about it Jin could find a few perks to dyeing his hair black. People would treat him like a normal person instead of idolizing him and give him different rights than other people. He wouldn't have to worry about people refusing to be around him just because he was a protagonist or those who just treated them terribly saying all of the bad things they go through were inevitable and shouldn't be cared about.
He could have normal friends that would care for him when bad things happened and if anything extreme happened to him or someone he knew the police would actually help instead of saying it didn't matter.
But all of that came at the cost of hiding your identity. Wouldn't it be hard having to dye your hair so often and always pretend to be someone you're not? You'd have to continuously live a lie and never be able to show the truth to anybody. And what would happen if you got caught? People who pretended to be protagonists were always killed, would that be the same fate to someone who pretended to be a normal character?
Jin couldn't help but feel bad for how terrified that younger boy must be feeling right now. It wasn't like he expected to accidentally uncover his identity as a protagonist, hell he didn't even know if he'd ever see that boy again! But he knew that the blue-haired protagonist was probably freaking out over someone knowing his real identity and he wouldn't have anyone to talk about it with.
He sighed as he finished hanging up his clothes smiling once realizing his apartment was back to being in the perfectly orderly and in clean optimal condition that he liked it to be in. It wasn't until the doorbell rang that he rolled his eyes knowing that his apartment was about to get messy again.
"Jinnie!" Jimin yelled as he quickly kissed the older before rushing in with Taehyung. "Let's watch a Disney movie again!"
Jin just chuckled at the two's behavior and moved out of the way so Namjoon and Yoongi could enter his apartment as well. They all had decided to have a movie night at Jin's place since he was the only one who had moved out of their parent's house. They were able to relax as much as they want and not have to worry about a sibling or adult coming in and freaking out over what they could possibly be doing.
Granted since they were main characters they'd more than likely just brush it off and ignore them but privacy still was a nice thing to have.
"Namjoon called a different boy pretty," Hoseok said as he walked in closing the door and then hurried to get towards the living room so what he was saying could be heard by the younger two. "And he said it right to our faces!"
"I called him cute."
"What's the difference! You still complimented another person right in front of our faces." Jimin said dramatically as he pouted out his lower lip. "But I'm the cutest, right?"
His question fell on deaf ears as everyone knew how the younger was when he was trying to get people to praise him. They never complained about how clingy he was though as they really appreciated it since he helped them get together in the first place.
"I saw a pretty cute kid today," Jin said ignoring the shocked gasps of his boyfriends. "I didn't get his name though."
"Such betrayal!" Jimin yelled as he toppled over into Taehyung's lap who just seemed to be laughing at him. "I've been betrayed twice this week! You traitors!"
Jin couldn't help but laugh at his boyfriend's reaction and went back to cuddle with them all on the couch. They didn't pester him more about the boy who he had said was cute and he was grateful for that. He wasn't quite sure if sharing the fact that someone was hiding being a protagonist would be something he should tell them all as they tended to act more dramatic than others. So he planned to just keep it to himself and hopefully he'd find that boy somewhere again soon and be able to befriend him.
