"Where are the protagonists today?"
"Oooh does someone have an obsession towards the protagonist?" Bambam teased as he followed Jeongguk's eyes towards the school's rooftop. "I wouldn't blame you, I feel like everyone goes through one of those phases."
"I'm not obsessed with them," Jeongguk said while rolling his eyes. "Just wondering why none of them are here."
"Ah yes, you're wondering why some people you never have talked to aren't at school. That definitely doesn't make it seem like you're obsessed with them."
"I'm not! It's just weird that they're not here, they always are."
"You haven't even gone to school here for a month, dude." Yugyeom said laughing as he took a bite out of his sandwich. "You don't have enough evidence to know if them skipping school is abnormal or not."
"Guys," Jeongguk said whining as he let himself plop down to lay fully on the grass instead of just sit. "It was just a question, that's all."
"Well, it's actually one of their birthdays today. You know the mint hair-"
"It's Yoongi's birthday?"
"You are obsessed!" Bambam yelled pointed his finger at the younger as he laughed. "You immediately knew the correct name to the right color!"
Jeongguk couldn't help but let his face heat up at that comment trying to ignore how other people passing through the courtyard were now staring at them. He didn't appreciate attention and, unluckily, his two friends were very loud and rambunctious.
"I'm just really good with names and faces."He combated as he sat back up crossing his arms. The playful glare he sent Bambam seemed to be a declaration of war. "It's a completely normal thing."
"Fine, who's that then?"
Jeongguk glanced up noticing that Bambam was pointing towards a group of girls in the school on the second floor. They all were talking to each other making there way somewhere and he couldn't help but feel surprised noticing Jihyo in the group. He had only seen his foster sister a few times at school and they never really made a big deal seeing each other. It wasn't like they both were trying to keep it a secret they lived together, it was just nobody noticed.
He had thought people would figure it out right when he moved here, as they both transferred to the school on the same day, but they didn't. To be fair the school was a lot bigger than his old one plus they didn't share any classes or have the same last name.
But Jihyo was beside the point. Bambam was currently pointing at someone else in that group, a girl with bangs and a long ponytail. Jeongguk desperately tried to think if Jihyo had ever mentioned any names of people she had been friends with. He could recall her saying that a couple of her friends were exchange students from Japan but that wasn't really helping his case right now.
"That's Hirai Sana," Jeongguk said trying to seem serious with his complete guess. "She's an exchange student from Japan."
His friends seemed to burst into laughter at his statement and Jeongguk felt his face flush up even more. He could have sworn Jihyo had said that name before in conversation but apparently he had been completely wrong.
"She is from Japan but her name is Myoui Mina," Yugyeom said as he rubbed the tears of laughter of out his eyes. "The other two Japanese exchange students there are called Hirai Momo and Minatozaki Sana, you got them mixed up."
"Well at least I knew parts of their names."
"Mina is the only exchange student that's actually in your grade, idiot. Sana and Momo are both seniors. But I guess you only know the names and grades of the protagonists, huh?"
"Shut up," Jeongguk said as he flopped back down on the ground covering his face with his hands. "It was just a simple question."
