"I want you to quit your job," Jihyo muttered as she stared at her brother a frown on her face

"I want you to quit your job," Jihyo muttered as she stared at her brother a frown on her face. "I  want you to quit your job so badly but I know you won't even take that into consideration."

Jeongguk watched as his foster sister started to pace around the room and then glanced at the clock. It was about a quarter to eight meaning she'd have to leave soon to make it to school on time. The boy, of course, had wanted to go so he wouldn't miss any of his classes but his throat hurt so much that he couldn't even force himself to talk without his voice sounding like he was in pain.

Jihyo had gone and bought a container of water bottles for Jeongkook so he could try to soothe his throat with them. The younger couldn't help but feel grateful having them beside his bed as it allowed him to just grab a drink without having to go to the kitchen and his parents possibly seeing his neck. Of course, he'd have to deal with recycling all these without his parents noticing and questioning him but he didn't plan to worry about something as minuscule as that when he had other much larger issues at hand.

"I know you didn't get hurt because of your job but still! You overwork yourself and study so hard and have to put up with some random drunk trying to beat you up!" Jihyo stomped her foot as she clenched her fists and looked back at her brother. "It's not fair!"

"S-sorry-"

"No, no please, don't talk right now, Jeongguk," She said as she rushed over to her brother and placed her hand on his shoulder. "I'm not angry at you, I'm angry at what you've been through. So today you're just going to relax all day, okay?"

Jeongguk nodded his head as he rolled over and stared at the mirror that was attached to the door of his room. He could see the bruise that had formed around his neck and couldn't help but frown at it. It was obvious that he had been choked and looking at the bruise just seemed to remind him of the situation he was in yesterday.

"Mom and dad shouldn't be home since they're working." Jihyo sighed as she moved off the bed and crouched to get in Jeongguk's line of vision. "I just want us to be together as a family, you know? Mom and dad are always working and so are you and it just leaves me alone all the time. I have friends I can hang out with but I just want to be with my family sometimes and it feels like we're all never here at the same time."

Jeongguk couldn't help but frown at his sister's remarks and he pushed himself up so he could adjust and hug her. He really wanted to tell Jihyo how sorry he was that he was always gone but his voice wouldn't let him.

"I'm just happy that you decided to call me." She said as she let go and looked back at the clock. "I should probably get to walking to school though, I don't want to be late."

Jeongguk watched as his sister sighed and stood up making her way out of the room. He couldn't help but feel guilty about how upset she felt about them never being able to actually be together as a family. Their parents worked at a hospital so moving here since they got a promotion was supposed to be good for them but everything was just so much more expensive in the city and even Jeongguk felt like he had only seen his parents when they were angry at him for working late on his first day.

He also felt like he partially was at fault for why they had to work so much. He knew how expensive it was to adopt a child and they willingly had let him into their lives and were paying to support their actual daughter and him now. They wouldn't have to work as much if it wasn't for him living here and he felt bad about that.

Jeongguk pushed himself up and opened the drawer grabbing onto his necklace and opening the locket. He couldn't help but wonder how things would be if his parents never had been killed.

Would he be hiding that he was a protagonist if they still were alive? The last thing that had pushed him to hide his true identity was how cruel everyone acted when they ignored that he was stuck with an abusive family. But if his parents were still alive he never would have been sent to an abusive family so how would things have turned out?

He would have never met his foster parents now or Jihyo. Where would he even be living at? He had lived in Busan with his parents, would they have moved away from there? Maybe they would have gone to Seoul like he was at now, there did seem to be a lot of protagonists around here. And maybe he would have gone to the school he was at now and been friends with the protagonists there.

Jeongguk really liked that idea and couldn't help but smile. Being friends with the six at his school seemed like it'd be so much fun and he would be friends with Jin too! They'd all be able to hang out and he wouldn't have to worry about paying for hair dye every week or overworking himself to keep up a facade.

His happiness seemed to deflate as he looked over to where he grabbed the locket noticing the receipt that Jin had written his number on. He couldn't help but put the number into his phone after that meeting but he didn't plan to ever talk to him, and that's how it was.

His real parents were gone he couldn't change that. Dreaming about being able to be friends with the protagonists was stupid, he couldn't risk something like that. He needed to focus on the present instead of some made up scenario trying to imagine everything was okay.

He needed to be grateful for what he had.

He had friends, something that he never had had before. Wanting to be friends with the protagonists was selfish, he already had Bambam and Yugyeom. All he had to do was try to handle whatever protagonist fate he had to go through and make sure nothing got out of hand.

And besides even if he ended up deciding that he didn't want to pretend anymore it's not like he could just stop and openly be a protagonist. The government was harsh about people playing whatever part fate had given them and he could imagine the deadly fate he would be given if he was caught. What if they ended up hurting his family too for housing him? He couldn't have them hurt, they were completely innocent and didn't know about his facade at all.

He threw his necklace back in the drawer not wanting to think about that anymore. Tears were beginning to prick his eyes and he rubbed his hand over his eyes to get them off. Hurriedly he grabbed his phone and put on music trying to avoid thinking about unrealistic happy scenarios and the consequences that would entail if he made the slightest mistake in his facade.

I saved up my money from the beginning of this year and bought three BTS Persona albums! For photocards I have Jimin, Jin, and Yoongi and postcards I have 2 Yoongi and Jungkook! This is the first time I've ever bought a BTS album and I'm so happy I saved my money in advance to do so. Do you guys have any BTS albums?
