"Hey! You should tell us where you live so we can hang out!"

"I don't really have any time to hang out," Jeongguk responded as he continued eating his lunch while talking to his two friends. "I'm low on cash so I've got to work for more hours."

That statement was true. Jeongguk had ended up throwing way too much money at the cashier for the hair dye but he couldn't go back and just ask for it. Who knows what would have happened if he stayed there and that protagonist decided to question him about his hair? He could only keep imagining worst case scenarios.

Which is why right after he went back home and dyed his hair he requested to have a shift over the weekend at the cafe so he'd be able to distract himself from thinking about the incident.

"You were working for almost the entire weekend!" Yugyeom said as he frowned at the older knowing that he was overworking himself. "The only day you got off was when you were sick, that's not fair! You haven't even been able to fully explore the city or hang out with us!"

"What use is exploring the city without money?"

"It's about memories! You're going to just work away your entire high school years and when you look back you're going to regret so much."

"I beg to differ," Jeongguk said as he closed his lunch box knowing that lunch was going to end soon. "Work really is the only thing that's keeping my life together like I want it to be."

Before Yugyeom or Bambam could interfere again the bell rang and they both got up and said goodbye as they rushed to their second-year classrooms. Jeongguk knew that he had art next so he wasn't in that big of a hurry to go and make it to his class as his teacher would be kind and accept him late.

She really had been nice when he missed her class Thursday when he was feeling sick and she seemed to genuinely accept his apology for missing class.

It took him only a couple minutes for him to make it to class and he simply bowed to the teacher as he made it to his desk. They were supposed to just practice drawing people so they all had small wooden mannequins at their desk to work.

Jeongguk wasn't really a huge fan of his art skills so the table he usually sat at was alone as he didn't want to have anyone see what he was working on. He didn't need to worry about other people bugging him as they'd all concentrate on their art and the only talking he'd hear was occasional laughter coming from the table where the two protagonists sat.

Taehyung and Jimin, he never had really talked to them before but that wasn't expected of him anyways. Protagonists lived their own event filled lives while average people left them alone.

An average person, that's what Jeongguk was trying his best to be.

The teacher seemed to glance at all her students working then simply walked out of the room causing Jeongguk to smile. He liked how the teacher was able to trust them to continue working even when she left, he felt that it was because they all actually enjoyed this class and weren't being pushed to work over their limits.

It was right when Jeongguk had almost finished the basis of his sketch that he felt someone tap his shoulder and sit in the seat beside him. He looked up and tilted his head in confusion once realizing that it was Jimin who had tapped him.

"Hey you're feeling better, right?"

"Feeling better?" Jeongguk questioned as he placed his pencil down letting his eyes wander realizing that Taehyung was sitting on the other side of him. He was grateful that everyone else was immersed in their art and listening to music so they didn't notice how the protagonists seemed to be talking to him, he figured this wasn't a common occurrence. "I'm fine."

"You missed class Thursday and Friday though." Taehyung responded his deep voice slightly startling the younger. "Did you get over your sickness?"

"Do you usually ask other students why they miss class?"

Jimin and Taehyung simply frowned knowing that they both didn't have a proper answer to that. They had been unconsciously both thinking about the black-haired boy and couldn't deny that they felt drawn to him. When he had missed class on Thursday they regretted not going to wake him up and when he was absent the entire day on Friday they began to grow concerned.

It wasn't like they could ask anybody about his well being though, they'd be confused why they cared so much about an average person.

"You're new," Taehyung said trying to create a lie that sounded like it made sense. "We just wanted to make sure that you were still going to continue coming to this school."

Jeongguk couldn't help but giggle at the two's response and they both sat in awe at how cute he looked. His bunny like smile was showcased and he brought his hands up to try to cover his face from the two protagonists. Namjoon really had been correct the other day when stating that he looked cute but the two protagonists couldn't deny the fact that he looked even cuter when he was smiling. The younger was oblivious to the protagonists admiring him as he couldn't stop laughing at the obvious lie that Taehyung had told him. How could he say something as stupid as that so seriously?

He felt happy around these two and wanted to hang out with them more but as he opened his eyes he just seemed to be reminded of their dreaded hair color and how he had been trying so hard to avoid it.

They probably didn't even know his name and that's how Jeongguk wanted to keep the situation.

"I'm fine." He responded the two surprised at how sour his mood became. He refused to meet their eyes and they couldn't help but feel confused about how quickly he changed. "I suggest you two get back to work before the teacher comes back."

They simply nodded in response not knowing what to say to make the situation better. They had been used to people treating them either like gods or crap and this boy just seemed to confuse them. They couldn't deny that they were drawn to him and the fact that he was pushing them away right now really hurt.

It was weird how he didn't act nervous around them either as most normal characters did that. The two boys with brightly colored hair glanced at each other and decided that they would talk about this another time.
