"Jeongguk!"

Before the boy could even move he felt someone jump and cling on to him. He had just been walking up the steps into the school but the additional weight of another person caused him to begin to tumble until he felt another person help support him.

"Bambam get off of Kookie before you hurt him!" Yugyeom said as he pried the older off of Jeongguk and laughed at how resistant he was. "He was sick yesterday so don't push him too much!"

"Oh, are you okay?"

"I'm fine guys," Jeongguk said laughing as he moved Bambam's hand off of his forehead. He glanced at his friends and took a deep breath trying to collect himself. Normally he could handle roughhousing just fine but it hurt more than usual due to the state he was in. His friends didn't seem to find his behavior odd so he felt happy, especially with the fact they hadn't noticed the makeup he was using to cover his bruised neck. "I just had a cold and my parents figured out. They get super protective whenever I'm sick and refuse to let me go to school."

Technically it was true that his parents would refuse to let him go to school if he was the slightest bit sick so he wasn't immensely lying to his friends. Still he felt guilty that he couldn't tell them the truth but he knew that being completely truthful would never be something he could do. White lies were the only support in his life and he wasn't going to stop lying now just to tell them some old guy tried to strangle him.

"You do tend to overwork yourself super easily so it's good that you were able to stay home," Yugyeom said as they all continued walking into school. "You should do fewer hours at the cafe too, I'm pretty sure you're doing hours that a full-time worker would do and not a part-time worker."

Jeongguk simply smiled in response not wanting to argue with his friends that he had actually requested to work as many hours as possible. Would he even be able to continue working at the cafe now? His hyungs there seemed extremely concerned for his health, would he be able to convince them to let him continue to work the same number of long hours?

They'd have to let him work, he needed money for hair dye.

"Kumfimook!" Jeongguk couldn't help but notice Bambam roll his eyes at the loud voice before bolting down one of the school hallways. "I told you to be here an hour before class to clean for punishment! Get back here!"

Yugyeom couldn't help but laugh watching the teacher chase after his friend and looked to see Jeongguk confused beside him.

"He accidentally spilled a ton of chemicals in chemistry yesterday," Yugyeom said explaining Bambam's behavior. "Nothing bad happened the teacher is just annoyed with him and expects him to clean up when obviously that's the last thing Bambam is going to do."

"Bambam's real name is Kumfimook?"

"Oh no, not at all, his name is Kunpimook. He tells people to just call him Bambam to avoid them butchering his name. But Ms. Ji refuses to and tries to use his real name to scold him, she somehow ends up pronouncing it worse each time. I probably need to go help him or he'll end up with detention again, I'll see you at lunch Kookie!"
