I looked in the mirror to check my outfit once more. Once I looked over my jean lace shorts with black sheer stockings, and a white tshirt with a cardigan and my red converse, I walked to my kitchen and sat down at the island and waited for Sam to get here. Cara had left earlier in the day to go spend some time with Jake at the fair while it was in town. Even though Sam refused to tell me where we were going, I had a feeling that it was going to be the fair. I mean why else could be tell me to dress comfortable.
It wasn't long until I heard a knock at the door. I quickly made my way to the door. I took a deep breath and open my door to reveal a smiling Sam. He quickly took a few steps forward and embraced me into a hug. When he let go after a few moments he said, "You look beautiful as every."
I smiled at him and said, "Thank you." I looked at him once again and asked, " So where are we going?"
He gave me look and took my hand to walk me out the door, "I told you. It's a surprise. Now, would it be a surprise if I told you?"
I sent a glare in his direction as I locked my door and followed him down to his car. He opened the car door for my and I said a thanks to him. He gently shut the car door and jogged to the driver's side of the car. Once he started driving, he turned on the radio. We didn't talk but it wasn't awkward. After a few minutes I felt his hand take mine and hold it in my lap. I looked over at him and smiled once he looked back.
After about 20 minutes Sam pulled into the fair parking lot. Once he found a parking space he looked over to me and said with a grin, "Tada."
I looked out of the window and instantly saw that lights of the Ferris Wheel. I looked back at Sam and said with excitement, "What are we waiting for?"
He let out a small laugh and opened his car door to get out. I did the same but when he came around he frowned at me. I shot him a confused look. "I was supposed to be a gentleman and open your door for you."
My mouth formed into an O shape, "Well do you want me to get back in so you can open the door?"
He looked at me and smiled, "Nah. Just remember next time that I'll get your door for you okay?"
I nodded and we started walking to the entrance of the fair. After a few minutes of walking and us two talking about which rides we wanted to ride, we got to the ticket booth.
"Hello Sir. What can I get for you and the misses today?" The guy running the booth said as he looked over at me.
"Umm. What do the bracelets let us do?"
"The bracelets," he said as he grabbed a map of the fair, "will let you ride as many rides as you want all day until we close. They are $15 each. In my opinion it's the best way to go."
"Alright," Sam said as he reached for his wallet, "I'll take two bracelets."
Sam gave the man $30 in exchange for the two purple bracelets. We walked over a few feet so we would be out of the line for tickets.
"Here. Let me put your bracelet on." I reached out my arm and Sam attached the ends of the bracelets together for me. Then I did the same for him.
We started walking around just observing all the fair games.
I heard Sam speak up, "Before we leave I wanna play a few of these games. It's kind of like a tradition for me to play at least one while I'm here."
"What's you favorite one to play?" I ask out of curiosity.
"Well, my favorite has to be the basketball shot. I used to play basketball and I just understand how to win cause I know the secret to it." He said with a grin.
