Damaged. // Jasper Hale

Chapter 17

I was currently standing in the Cullen's house whilst Alice was running around preparing last minute things. I was wearing the dress Alice had bought me which was a beautiful navy blue dress that was strapless with a sweetheart neckline. My hair was down in natural waves and the necklace Jasper had given me hung from my neck.

"If I hadn't have come into your life what would you have done?" I asked as Jasper and I looked out the window of the library. "Probably moved away or turned to the Volturi to end my life" He said an I snapped my head to him. "The Volturi are the closest thing we have to royalty in the vampire world. What they say goes and if you break any laws you answer to them" He said.

"Jas, you would've ended your life? Why?" I asked shocked. "Because. I had nothing to live for, until I met you" He said turning to me and I gave him a small smile. The doors rolled open and we turned see Alice. "Its time" She sang grabbing Bella and I's hands. "It's time, it's time, it's time" She said before pulling us out of the library and down the stairs where the entire Cullen family was waiting.

Esme and Carlisle approached Bella and I with warm smiles. "Sorry about all this. We tried to rein Alice in" Carlisle said before hugging Bella as Esme hugged me. "As if that were even possible. Happy birthday girls" Esme said pulling away and hugging Bella as Carlisle hugged me briefly. There was a flash and we turned to see Alice with Bella's camera.

"I...found it in your bag. You mind?" Alice said sweetly and I giggled. "Dating an older woman. Hot" Emmett said to Edward and I burst into a small fit of giggles. "You first Rosalie" Alice said handing two boxes to Rose. She handed one to me and one to Bella. "Ell, yours is a bracelet and Bella, yours is a necklace. Alice picked it out" Rosalie said bluntly.

"Thanks Rose" I said smiling at her and she mustered a small one back. Alice dragged Jasper and Edward down the stairs to our sides. Jasper wrapped his arm around my waist as Alice took a picture of Edward and Bella then us saying "Show me the love". "This one is from Emmett" Alice said handing a box to Bella.

Bella shook it and there wasn't anything in it before turning to Emmett. "Already installed it in your truck. Finally a decent sound system for that piece of-""Hey, don't...don't hate the truck" Bella said interrupting Emmett. "Open Esme and Carlisle's" Alice said handing Bella and I both two envelopes.

"Just a little something to brighten your day" Carlisle said as we turned to them. "Yes, you've both been looking kind of pale lately" Esme joked and I giggled. I opened mine to see two first class plane tickets. I turned to Bella to see her struggling to open her when she got a paper cut."Ow. Paper cut" She said brushing it off.

Before I knew it Jasper launched forward from where he was standing and Edward threw Bella and I behind him. Bella slammed onto the table breaking the vase of flowers and I fell onto the shattered glass cutting my hand. I looked up to see Edward throw Jasper into a piano and he got back up ready to come at us again only to be stopped by Pierre, Emmett and Carlisle.

I shrunk back in fear as my boyfriend looked at me with his black eyes ready to kill me and for the first time, I was scared of him. Alice appeared in front of him and shielded us from his sight. "Jas, Jas, shhh, shh, it's ok. It's just a little...blood" She said before she and the entire family turned to us, Jasper continuing to growl.

A few tears fell from my eyes as Carlisle appeared at Bella's side and grasped her arm. He held his bloodied hand up and Emmett and Pierre dragged Jasper out. "I'm sorry, I can't" Alice whimpered before also exiting. I stood up and went to go after them only to be stopped by Esme. "Ell, it isn't safe to follow him ok sweetie? Go with Carlisle he will clean you up whilst Jasper calms down" She said holding my non injured hand and I nodded before limping up the stairs to Carlisle's surgery where he and Bella where.

Carlisle finished stitching up Bella and I sat down on the table where he gently held my hand looking at it as the tears continued streaming down my face. "Elise, I am sorry for Jaspers outburst tonight" Carlisle said pilling the small shards of glass out. I shook my head wiping my tears and sniffing. "It wasn't your fault Carlisle" I said looking down at the floor.

"Ell, I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to" Bella stuttered from her chair and I looked up at her giving her a sad half smile. "It's fine honestly" I said not knowing what else to say. After a few more minutes Carlisle wrapped my hand in gauze. "Thanks Carlisle. Goodnight" I said before hopping off the table and walking downstairs with Bella where Edward was waiting.

"Can I see him?" I asked Edward, hope rising in my chest. Edward shook his head and I sighed. "I'm sorry Ell but it is just too risky. He may spiral into another frenzy again" Edward explained and I nodded. We began walking down the stairs and to the front door where we hugged Esme good bye. "Tell him I forgive him" I whispered to her as we hugged and she nodded before pulling away.

I walked out the front to Bella's truck and climbed in. The drive home was silent and awkward. No one said a thing. We pulled up at home and I climbed out of the truck instantly just wanting to go to my room. I opened the front door and closed it behind me before walking upstairs to my room. I shut my door and changed out of my dress into some pyjamas before climbing into my bed with my phone in my hands.

I turned it on and went through my contacts and found Jaspers number. I put the phone to me ear and listened to it ring hoping he would answer but he didn't. It went straight my voicemail and my heart clenched. "Hey Jasper, its me, I know you feel guilty about tonight but don't ok? It wasn't your fault. It wasn't anyones. Please call me. I love you" I said before hanging up.

I sighed and turned my lamp off before rolling over and falling asleep.
