Chapter 24

"So what can I do for you?" The doctor asked as dad and I sat in the chairs beside him. "Last night, Ell fainted when walking down the stairs and it's the second time this week that she has fainted. I think it is because she is bulomic or anoric whatever those things are because she has been loosing a ton of weight" Dad said and I rolled my eyes. "Bulimic or anorexic?" The doctor corrected and dad nodded. "Yeah those things" He said.

"Ok. Ell, has there been anything that has happened these past dew weeks that has caused you to become bulimic or anorexic?" The doctor asked and I sighed. "I'm not anorexic or bulimic. I just haven't been eating is all" I said before letting out a sigh. "Ok well what has caused you to loose your appetite?" The doctor asked.

"I think its just stress" I said before biting my lip. "Ok. That is one thing that can lead to loss of appetite. Anything else maybe? Bullying, family issues, boy troubles?" She asked and Jasper instantly flashed through my mind. "No. Just stress" I said bluntly and she nodded. "Ok. Elise would you mind just stepping onto the scales?" She asked and I stepped onto them.

"90 pounds. That is pretty low for someone of your height and age" She said writing it down on her computer. I sighed before sitting back down beside dad. "My advise would be; Elise even fi you don't feel like eating, force yourself because if your body continues to not get the nutrition it needs then it can lead to pretty bad things. Fainting, brittleness in the bones, easy bruising, organ failure and even death. So I really need you to try your hardest and get back to a heathy weight. If you are under a lot of stress maybe see a guidance councillor at school or a therapist outside of school. Here is a card for one facility" She said before handing me the card.

"Chief Swan, I advise that you watch her meals and make sure she is eating. If things continue or get worse definitely come back" She said and dad nodded. After we finished everything up we walked out to his car and got in before we drove home. The car ride was silent. All you could hear was dads police radio go off every now and then.

"If those Cullen's ever come back you and Bella are not to see them again" Dad grumbled breaking the silence. I turned and looked at him with my eyebrows scrunched. "Why?" I asked turning back to looking forward. "Because. Those two idiots have really messed up yours and Bellas lives. Bella is having nightmares and is in this deep depression and you are wasting away because you're not eating" He said not looking at me once.

"Dad""No don't dad me and say oh I love him. As a dad it is my job to protect you two. I couldn't protect you guys when you left forks but I will now and if that means not letting you see the Cullen's if they come back then so be it" Dad snapped and I shrunk back in my seat. He doesn't understand...

"And I know what you're thinking. What would dad know? He doesn't understand. I do know how you feel kiddo. They're on your mind from the moment you wakeup to the moment you go to sleep. You wonder what they're doing without you. If they've moved on. If they're thinking about you and the moment you get them off your mind someone or something reminds of them and it feels like those wounds are being ripped open all over again. I know the feeling because I went through the exact same thing with your mother" he said and my heart broke

"But with time those wounds healed and I became me again" He continued and I gave him a small smile. "You know if there was ever a best dad award, it would go to you" I said and he humphed. We pulled into the driveway and got out of the car. I walked inside after dad unlocked the door. "I'm going to lie down" I said and dad nodded as he placed his hands on his hips.

"Ok. I'm going to head off back to work. Call me if you need anything" He said before making his way to the front door. "Dad?" I called and he turned his head looking at me. "Yeah?" He replied. "Thank you. For everything" I said softly and he gave me a small smile. "I'm always here when you need me Ell. It's my job" He said before walking out the front door.

I made my way upstairs and I laid down in my bed closing my eyes after I changed into some comfy clothes.

*Dream*

I looked around and saw I was in a field. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a flash of red. I gasped and turned looking in that direction. "Elise" A distant voice called and I turned seeing Jasper. "Jas?" I questioned stepping towards him. Out of nowhere someone leapt onto his back. I gasped as I realised who it was. "Victoria?!" I said in shock as I stumbled back a little.

She smirked at me before she wrapped her arms around Jaspers head and snapped it off his body. "NOOOO!" I cried running forward. She leapt off his body into the trees as I ran to him. "Jasper!" I cried. Suddenly I was pinned to the ground and opened my eyes to see Victoria smirking. "Now he's with James" She whispered in my ear before she bit down on my neck. "AHHHH!"

*End of dream*

I gasped as I snapped my eyes open. I placed my hand on my forehead as I sighed closing my eyes for a second. I sat up and rubbed my face before climbing out of bed walking to the bathroom. I turned on the cold water and cupped some in my hands before splashing my face. The cold water tingled against my skin before I wiped my face with a hand towel.

I leaned my hands against the counter as I looked at my reflection. I really was wasting away. Damn you Jasper. I heard the front door close and I looked down the stairs to see Bella with Jacob. Bella was holding her head and I gasped as I saw blood. "Holy shit Bella what happened?!" I said once I reached her. "She fell off one of the bikes and hit her head on a rock" Jacob said and I realised he was shirtless.

"God Bells why are you so clumsy?" I said grabbing her arm and pulling her upstairs to the bathroom. "I-I got distracted" She said removing the cloth that was held to her head. I grabbed the first aid kit from the cupboard below the sink and grabbed an alcohol wipe. I cleaned off the blood and saw a small gash at the edge of her hair line.

"Nothing too bad. Just a small gash" I said bandaging the wound. I picked up the cloth and realised it was Jacobs shirt. "Here Jacob I'll give you one of dads shirts" I said before walking into dads room rummaging through the draws pulling out a plain black shirt. I walked back to the bathroom and handed it to him. He slipped it over his head and pulled it long hair out.

"I guess I should head off" Jacob said and I nodded. "I'll wash this and get dad to drop it off to you next time he comes to your house" I said and he nodded. "Ok. By Bells. Seeya Elise" He said before walking downstairs and out the front door shutting it behind him. "Hey Ell, have you...had like visions of Jasper?" Bella asked looking up from the floor as I washed my hands.

"No. But I dream about him every night and I hear his voice sometimes" I said turning to her and she nodded. "I see Edward. But it's like he's a ghost or something. Thats why I crashed today. Because I saw him a-and he sounded so real when he told me to stop and I felt his cold hand on mine and then lost control of the bike ad crashed" Bella said and I gave her a sad half smile.
