Chapter 39

"Seattle is in a state of terror Police are baffled by the escalating murders and disappearances. Theories range from a vicious new gang to a wildly active serial killer. Reporting live..." The news lady said before Carlisle turned to TV off. I gripped Jaspers hand in mine as fear filled me. This is getting big... I thought to myself.

I felt a wave of calmness and turned to Jasper giving him a small smile. "It's getting worse" Carlisle said as he placed the remote down. "We're going to have to do something" He continued. "It takes more than our kind to cause the damage they're reporting. Quite a few more. They're undisciplined, conspicuous" Jasper said and I began to bite at my nails.

"It's new borns" Edward said from across the living room. "What like new vampires?" Bella asked confused. "The first few months after the change" Edward started. "That's when we're at our most uncontrollable. Viscous. Insane with thirst" Jasper described. "Something to look forward too" Emmett said excitably.

"No one's trained these newborns but this isn't random" Jasper said turning to Carlisle. "Someone's creating an army" Carlisle said. "Now we're definitely going to Seattle" Emmett said jumping up from the couch. "An army of vampires" I said turning to Jasper. "And they've been created to fight someone" Jasper said looking at me.

"We're the only clan even close to Seattle" Edward said and I gave Bella a distressed look. "Regardless of why they were made, if don't put a stop to them, the Volturi will. I'm surprised they've let it go on this long" Carlisle said. "Maybe they're behind it. In Italy, I read Aros mind. He wants me and Alice to join him. He knows we'll never choose him as long as our family is still alive" Edward suggested.

"An army could solve that for him" Jasper said. I got up and walked out to the balcony shutting the door behind me. I began to hyperventilate pacing back and forth. I heard the door close and turned to see Jasper. "Ell, whats wrong?" He asked and I walked over into his open arms. I felt the anxiety slightly lesson and I looked up to him with teary eyes.

"I'm just...so scared Jas. I mean you could die because of me. You and your family. I would never be able to forgive myself let alone live without you" I whispered as a tear fell. "Shh my love. It's going to be ok. I promise. Nothing will happen to you, me or my family" He said reassuring me as another wave of calmness washed over me.

I took in a few deep breaths before looking at him again. "Ok. I'm so lucky to have you" I said and he smiled before gently pressing his lips to mine. After a few moments we pulled away and I rested my head on his chest as we stood there in an embrace. "These newborns don't stand a chance against my family and I in all honesty. Whoever has created them more than likely thinks newborns over rule knowledge and experience" Jasper said and I nodded.

"I should head home. Dads probably waiting but I'll see you tonight yeah?" I said and Jasper nodded. I leaned up and pressed my lips to his once more before pulling away. He walked me downstairs where I climbed in Bella's truck and we drove home. Bella and I walked into the house and saw dad sitting at the dining table.

Bella walked upstairs as I walked into the kitchen. "Hey, did you eat dinner yet?" I asked placing my bag on the counter. "Uh no I haven't" Dad said giving me a quick glance before going back to his paper work. I looked over his shoulder and saw a missing persons poster. "This kid, Riley Biers, disappeared over a year ago and his poor parents have been papering Seattle with these things ever since" Dad said.

"You think they should just give up?" I said. "I wouldn't if it were you or Bella. Not ever" Dad said pulling me close as he wrapped an arm around me from his chair. I sighed as guilt filled me. I walked to the fridge pulling out dads dinner which looked like steak and salad before beginning to eat with him.

"Do you think his disappearance has something to do with the recent ones in Seattle?" Dad asked me out of curiosity and I shrugged. "I don't know. If it was over a year ago maybe but yeah like I said I don't know" I replied and dad nodded. After I finished dinner I placed my dishes in the sink before walking upstairs after saying goodnight to dad.

I closed my door and saw sitting on my bed. I changed into my pyjamas before crawling into him. "I need to figure out what to tell dad when I change into one of you" I mumbled. "I can say you got into an accident or something" Jasper said and I shrugged. "Maybe" I replied and I looked up at him. "What did you tell your family?" I asked.

"I believe the army told them I died in action. To be honest, I didn't have much of a family. All I had was my mother and my sister. My father left when I was 12 because he was an abusive drunk and ran off with the town prostitute" He said. "What were their names?" I asked. "My fathers name was Thomas, mothers name was Mary and my sisters name was Evelyn" Jasper said and I nodded.

"At least when you turn you'll have Bella" Jasper said. "True. And I'll have you for eternity" I replied and Jasper smile before leaning down and kissing me. I sat up and deepened the kiss as I crawled into his lap. Jasper wrapped his arms around my back pulling me closer to him. I pulled away and moved down slightly before lying down on his shoulder.

"I love you"I mumbled as I got comfortable. "I love you too darlin. Sweet dreams" Jasper said before I began to drift off.
