Chapter 66

I held Cecilia's hand as we walked into the clearing. We stopped and waited; anticipation building in my chest. I turned to Jasper and he turned to me. I gave him a small smile before turning to the side and looking at Bella who was standing with Edward and Nessie. I heard the crunching of snow and snapped my head forward. They're here I thought to myself.

Out of instinct I put my arm protectively in front of Cecilia and she held it. My stomach flipped at the sight of how many there were. I felt Cecilia's heart quicken as she gripped my hand tighter. I heard the wolves howling and heard them approaching. I saw Seth walk over to us out of the corner of my eye.

The Volturi flicked their hoods off and Carlisle stepped forward. "Aro, let us discuss things as we used to. In a civilised manner" He said calmly. "Fair words Carlisle. But a little out of place given the battalion you've assembled against us" Aro replied. "I can promise you, that was never my intent. No laws have been broken" Carlisle said.

"We see the child, do not treat us as fools" Caius seethed. "They are not Immortals! These witnesses can attest to that or you can look. See the flesh of human blood in their cheeks" Carlisle said motioning to the girls. "Artifice!" Caius protested angrily. "I will collect every facet of the truth. But from people for central to the truth. Edward, Jasper, as the children cling to your new born mates. I assume you two are involved" Aro said and an uneasy feeling gathered in my chest as I looked at Jasper.

He looked at me before looking at Cecilia and walking forward with Edward. Cecilia walked around to my other side wrapping her arms around my waist and I held her. Jasper and Edward made it to Aro where he took their hands in his. "I'd like to meet them" Aro said looking to us. Edward and Jasper turned to us and I sighed before looking down at Cecilia.

I took her hand in mine and we walked forward with Seth. We turned and looked at Emmett. He walked away from Rosalie's side before walking up with us. We stopped in front of Aro and he looked at Bella and I. "Ah, young Bella. Immortality becomes you" Aro said before turning to me. "And you must be Elise" He said and I nodded.

He let out a strange laugh as he looked at the girls and Cecilia coward away slightly. "I hear their strange hearts" He said. Cecilia took Nessie's hand as they walked forward. "Hello Aro" Cecilia said quietly looking at his hand before gently placing her hand on his cheek causing his eyes to cloud. Cecilia pulled her hand away and Nessie placed her hand on his cheek.

"Magnifico!" Aro said gently. "Half mortal, half immortal. Conceived and carried by these newborns, whilst they were still human" Aro said as I pulled Cecilia back to Jasper and I. "Impossible!" Caius snapped. "Do you think they fooled me brother?" Aro said as he turned to him. Jasper and I turned and walked back to our family with Cecilia.

"Bring the informer forward" I heard Caius say. "Are they the children you saw?" Caius said and we turned looking at Irina. "I'm not sure" Irina said shaking her head. "Jane" Caius said. "They've changed! These children are bigger" Irina said. "Then your allegations were false" Caius said.

"The Cullen's are innocent. I take full responsibility for my mistake" Irina said. "I'm sorry" She whispered as she turned to us. The Volturi lit the torch as the guards approached her. "Cecilia don't look!" Jasper said stepping in front of her and she hugged me burying her head into me. "Caius no!" Edward exclaimed. "IRINA!" Tanya screamed and they began to run forward as the Volturi ripped Irina's head off.

They lit Irina's body on fire and everyone tried to stop Kate and Tanya. I lifted Cecilia onto Seth as I looked to them. "Ell freeze them" Edward said and I ran over to him before concentrating on Kate and Tanya. They stopped running freezing in their spots. Zafrina also blinded them and Edward walked over to them.
