Chapter 27

Dear diary,

I think I have become numb to him. I don't cry anymore, I don't feel the pain. It's...fading away. I think I'm getting better. I've started eating again. Only gained 2 pounds this month. But that's not bad. The Clearwater's have really helped me. They filled that void that the Cullen's left in my heart. Sue reminds me of Esme.

She has a sweet caring motherly nature to her. I can never repay her for all that she's done for me these past weeks. I can look at our photo without crying. But jut because the pain is fading away, doesn't mean he won't be the love of my life. We had a bond that I will NEVER have with someone else. If there is one thing I can thank him for, it's showing me what real love looks like in a small frame of time.

I sighed a small sigh as I closed my diary before placing it in my drawer. I stood up and opened my curtains letting the sun come through and light up my walls. I walked over to my keyboard and turned it on before beginning to play Can't help falling in love by Elvis. "Wise men say...only fools rush in, but I can't help, falling in love with you" I sang.

I finished the song and turned to see my dad standing in the door way. "I haven't seen you play in years" He said as he crossed his arms. I gave him a small smile as I stood up wrapping my arms around myself. "Yeah. I'm glad I started playing again" I said and he gave me a small smile. "You know, I've noticed that since you've been going to the Clearwater's, you've gotten better" Dad said and I nodded.

"Sue has really helped you know being that motherly figure to me" I said and dad nodded. "Good, good. She's a lovely woman. Harry is really lucky" Dad said looking at his shoes for a moment. "Yep. She really is amazing" I said. "Yeah, anyways I'm going to run some errands but I'll see you later kiddo" Dad said kissing my forehead before leaving.

There was a knock on my door shortly after and Bella stepped into my room. "Hey" I said turning off my keyboard. "Hey umm, I was wondering if you wanted to come for a walk with me in the woods" She said and I turned to her. "The woods?" I asked confused. "Yeah. I - I just want to visit a field that Edward and I used to go to" She said.

"Ok" I said and she nodded her head awkwardly. I walked to my closet and grabbed out a black jacket. I walked out of my room and downstairs where I saw Bella waiting for me. We exited the house and climbed into her truck after locking the front door. Bella started up the truck and pulled out of the driveway driving in the direction of school.

"Jasper and I used to go to the same field sometimes" I said leaning my head against the window. "It was beautiful" Bella said and I nodded. "Definitely" I said. After a while we stopped at the edge of the forestation and climbed out. Bella locked her truck before we made our way into the trees.

"Do you ever like worry about what's out here?" Bella asked me after 5 minutes of silence. "After dating Jasper, nothing really worries me" I said and Bella smiled. "How are things with Jacob?" I asked walking closer to her as we stepped over a fallen tree. "He's changed. Like he cut his hair and has a tattoo and he's just not the Jacob we knew" Bella said shaking her head.

"I'm sorry" I said and she shrugged. "I know it has something to do with Sam Uley. Before he...changed he told me how all his friends changed after hanging around him and Jacob said he would always stare at him as if he was waiting then all of a sudden Jacob is one of them" Bella said giving me a quick glance.

"He doesn't seem that bad of a person" I said shrugging. "You've...met him before?" Bella said giving me a confused look. "Yeah. A few days ago Sue took me to his place to drop off a few things for his fiancé Emily who is her niece" I explained and Bella nodded. "Well I don't like him for what he did to Jacob" She said and I shook my head slightly at her stubbornness.
