(A/N: Some very unladylike and ungentlemanly words up ahead in the next couple chapters)
"I don't know whether to feel proud or worried," Yoongi declared. "You actually hit someone, Abby."
I quietly handed Jin a small bag if ice, getting flashbacks to when I was slapped by the men in California and Jin gave me a bag of ice then.
Jin accepted gratefully and our fingers brushed a little. I jumped and then tried to quickly disguise me actions.
"Come on, Yoongi," Namjoon said quietly. "I think these two need some time alone."
I shot a panicked gaze to the members as they began to leave.
"I can stay," Taehyung volunteered.
"No, Tae, these two have some serious shit they need to clean up," Namjoon said, voice hard and with no room for arguing.
Taehyung finally left, lead by Namjoon.
"Your hand," Jin said softly. "Is it fine?"
I peered down at my red hand in surprise. I had slapped Jin hard on the cheek, perhaps hard enough to leave a bruise, and he was worried about my hand? I cleared my throat. "My hand is fine but, like, are you okay?"
"No."
I winced. "I'm sorry," I stumbled over my words. "I honestly didn't know you were the one who touched me. I thought you were another guy and I was so mad that someone else was going to manhandle me and-"
"That's not what I meant, Abby."
I stopped and finally met Jin's gaze for the first time in a while. "What?"
"The slap is the least of my pain right now, though it does hurt a lot," Jin exhaled slowly. Then quickly added, "You've got surprising amount of power in your swing."
I bit my lip guiltily and looked down. "Are you hurt anywhere else then? What's hurting you the most?"
"My heart."
Anger suddenly sparked in me and my head snapped up, my guilt fading away temporarily. "Don't say such cheap things like that," I snapped. "What do you hope to accomplish saying things like that, huh? Besides, your heart should be perfectly fine now that you're with Kiri."
"I'm not dating Kiri anymore," Jin replied with infuriating calmness.
More rage seared through my veins. "I thought you to be kind once, Jin. The way you cared for your members, the way you protected me by lying for me and scaring away those men behind the hotel, the way you helped me through the airport. But in reality, you're nothing but a selfish, rich, guy who only cares about sating his own desires."
"What makes you say that?" Jin's face was carefully blank.
"Unbelievable," I pulled my hair. "One night you kiss me, the next night you kiss another girl and start courting her, then now, hardly a week later, you're saying you've broken up with her. What kind of guy does shit like that?" Foul words entered my mouth as I needed to get my anger out.
"You don't even know why I did the things I did," Jin protested, finally his smooth facial features cracking a little. "You never asked! You just saw something and then drew your conclusions."
"You kissed each other," I hissed. "I didn't need to ask anything."
"2018 is quite different than 1860, Abby," Jin's voice was growing hard. He was getting angry himself. Good. "A kiss doesn't hold as much of a value as it may have in 1860."
