When the train arrived at the station in Hogsmead we all shoved our way through the crowd.
"First years! First years! This way!" We looked over to see a Giant Hairy man standing there amongst other children who looked to be our age.
We gathered around him and he waited until the station platform cleared out.
"Name Rubeus Hargrid, keeper of keys here at Hogwarts! If you'll followr' me!" With that Hargrid led us off the platform and to a pier with a bunch of little boats with lanterns sitting in them.
"Four to a boat!" Hagrid yelled and started loading students into boats.
Sirius, Remus, and Peter climbed in a boat together.
"Hey James why don't we..." I started but was interrupted by James yelling, "Dibbs!" And climbing into the last spot.
"Never mind then," I muttered glaring at his smug face and then I felt I tap on my shoulder.
I turned to see a red headed girl smiling at me, "Hello! I'm Lily Evans, you can join our boat if you'd like?" She gestured towards a boat that had a pale boy with long greasy black hair and a girl with short brown hair.
"Anne Potter and thank you!" I said nodding happily and following her into the boat.
We sat and waited for everyone else to board their boat.
Lily pointed to the boy, "this is Severus Snape, he's my best friend and neighbor."
"Pleased," he said shortly nodding to me.
"This is Alice Prewett," Lily said pointing to the girl, "we only met on the train."
"Hello!" The girl said shyly.
"Anne Potter!" I grinned Happily.
"Potter?" Severus said curiously, "so your a pure blood."
I nodded stiffly, "yes, why do you ask?"
"Just curious," he said shrugging, "I'm only a halfblood myself."
"I'm a pureblood as well," Alice said.
"I'm a... Severus what is that word again?" Lily turned curiously to Severus.
"Muggleborn," he answer plainly.
"Ah yes! I'm a muggleborn!" Lily exclaimed.
"So this must be very exciting for you then? A whole new world you didn't know about?" I questioned curiously.
"Oh yes! I've been reading everything I can ever since I got my letter! Poor Severus here is probably so happy we are here so I can stop bombarding him with questions!" She joked.
"You have no idea..." Severus said looking at me with a serious face.
Our boat lurched forward and we all went silent and turned to watch our surroundings as the boat tugged along.
We finally made our way to the castle and everyone excited their boat looking in awe at the giant obstruction in front of them.
We made our way into the castle and stopped as a cat crossed our path.
Sirius went to walk around it and the cat swatted at him hissing making him stumble back.
"What the bloody, the damn cat hissed at me!" Sirius exclaimed.
Suddenly the cat started growing and changing figure until finally an aged woman with her hair in a tight bun and green robes stood in front of us.
Everyone's jaws dropped and Lily started jumping up and down in excitement as Sirius said, "bloody hell..."
"Watch your language Mr Black, now I am professor Mcgonagall, professor of transfiguration, head of Gryffindor House, and deputy Headmistress. Now you will follow me into the great hall lined up in pairs of two, you will remain silent, I will call your name, and you will come forth, I will place the sorting hat on your head and you will be sorted and then you will proceed to go and sit with your designated house. Are we clear?" She questioned glancing around, "Good. Now pair up and follow me."
She turned and started walking away as we all hurried and grabbed a partner and got in line to follow her I stood beside Alice and we got behind Lily and Severus. After stairs upon stair we finally stood in front a huge set of doors.
"Alright quiet down now! Everyone ready? Alrght," And with that the doors swung open and she lead us through them and into a large dinner hall with four table layed out side by side and one table set at the very end of the hall in front of a large window. The ceiling was charmed to look like a night sky and candles were floating around. Each table held a color: green, red, yellow, and blue.
We walked in between the red and yellow table until we reached the table at the end of the hall which held what looked like a bunch of professors. The man in the middle looked at us with a slight grin and his blue eyes twinkling.
We heard a cough and looked to see Professor Mcgonagall holding out a scroll and standing beside a stool with a hat placed on top of it.
One by one she called names and students would get sorted.
"Black, Sirius!" Mcgonagall called.
Sirius swaggered up to the stool and plopped down and the hat was placed on him.
He had to have sat on that stool muttering back and forth with that it for a good ten minutes till the hat bellowed...
"GRYFFINDOR!"
It was silent for a minute before we heard...
"Wooooooooooooooah we got a Black!"
"Screw you pure blooded pricks Haha!"
I heard Alice groan and say, "Oh my goodness."
I turned and looked to see the voices belonged to two identical red headed boys.
I turned and looked back at Alice, "Who are they?"
"Fabian and Gideon Prewett, they are my cousins," she answered rolling her eyes, "they are quiet the trouble makers, if they are showing interest in Sirius then no good can come from it."
Sirius made his way to the Gryffindor table confidently ignoring the glares from his many family members seated at the Slytherin table.
The names when on and on and students were sorted into their respective houses.
Slytherin welcomed very few students namely Severus along with three other boys Avery, Rosier, and Mulciber. They also gained three female students Eloise Zabini, Narcissa Black, and Theodora Goyle.
Ravenclaw welcomed a large class a few being Michael Smith, Ahmed Patil, Barty Crouch Jr., Chin Chang, Lisa Wells, and Dolores Umbridge.
Hufflepuff class welcomed a total of 20 First years first year including two attractive boys by the names of Amos Diggory and Henre Bones.
Gryffindor welcomed not only Sirius but also Remus, Peter, and my brother. So far the girls sorted into Gryffindor were Marlene McKinnon, Mary Macdonald, Alice, and Lily.
"Potter, Anne!" Mcgonagall called startling me.
I walked up to the stool and plopped down. Mcgonagall placed the hat on my head and it fell over my eyes so I pushed it back.
Hmmm aren't you curious little one?
Good heart, quick witted, so brave you could be considered stupid, but also too intelligent to get yourself into a tight spot.
"Will you hurry up?" I muttered annoyed.
Ohhh and not very friendly are you? Hmmm better be...
