I stormed through the halls frantically pushing past anyone who crossed my path.
Ever since the victory party these "headaches" I've been getting have become more and more frequent. Every time I have one a... ghost I guess? Appears in front of me, sometimes they speak to me, other times they silently stare without a word.
Once I reached my destination I stare at the statue and curse when I realized I didn't know the password.
"Chocolate frogs, licorice wands, jelly beans, acid pops!!!" I spit out candy after candy frantically and sigh in relief when stairs start emerging right before my eyes.
I run up the stairs and before I can even knock on the door a strong yet gentle voice calls, "come in!"
I enter the office to see a wise old man sitting before me in the headmaster's chair.
"Professor Dumbledore," I said sitting down in front of him.
"Miss Potter, tell me, what can I do for you?" He asked as his blue eyes twinkled knowingly at me.
I hesitated before saying, "I would explain sir but something tells me you already know."
Dumbledore smiled knowingly at me and folded his hands, "Yes well, I suppose I did know you would be visiting my office sooner or later, word of your... episodes... tend to get around Miss Potter."
"What's happening to me professor? I see all these strange people, they communicate with me. Am I going mad?" I asked worriedly.
"Some would probably say you are very well going mad Miss Potter. Mad however doesn't always have to be a bad thing," Dumbledore spoke wisely.
"The term for your gift is known as Necromancy. Very rare gift and the last known Necromancer died nearly 1000 years ago," Dumbledore explained, "A Necromancer is someone who can contact spirits, who have moved on from this world, different than the ghosts we have here at Hogwarts. These spirits are all knowing of what is going on in this world and a Necromancer has the ability to obtain this information. Necromancers are also well protected under the spirits they come in contact with."
"So basically I'm a freak in a community of freaks," I clarified.
"You're powerful Miss Potter," Dumbledore said, "There is darkness growing outside these castle walls. Darkness that craves to recruit people of not only your blood status but your powerfulness. You must be careful with this gift in public."
"Who would want to recruit a 16 year old sir?" I asked confused.
"Power has no age Miss Potter," Dumbledore said, "Now you have friends to say your goodbyes to. Maybe we can discuss this more next term."
"Yes professor, have a good summer," I bid goodbye as I walked towards his office door.
"Oh and Miss Potter," Dumbledore called making me stop and look at him.
"Mr Black cares a great deal for you, mind my asking but is there something.." he trailed off making me go red in the face and stutter.
"Umm..na..no sir, we are just friends," I said still red faced.
"Ahhh, well Miss Potter if you don't mind me advising, the truest love comes out of the closest friendships. Good day."
I hurried out his office feeling my face burn in embarrassment as I ran to my dorm to gather my things.
I lugged my heavy trunk down the stairs, I grunted as I made it to the last three steps.
Then I felt a hand land over mine which was gripping the handle, "Here Claws let me help."
I screeched in surprise and tripped over my trunk knocking said person down with me.
I felt my face turn red as I looked down to see the surprised face of Sirius as I laid on top of him.
"Sorry..." I said sheepishly as I stood up and offered him a hand.
He grabbed my hand and pulled himself up, then said, "Claws I've told you time and time again, if you want a piece of this all you have to do is ask."
I felt my cheeks turn even redder and as I was about to respond, Marlene stepped up.
She put a hand on Sirius's chest, "I would like a piece of it Siri."
I felt a weird feeling in my stomach as Sirius ignored her but didn't go to move her hand.
I followed the weird feeling in my stomach and stepped up brushing Marlenes hand off his chest and then wrapping my arms around Sirius's waist and hugging him from the side, "Sorry Marls, you can't have a piece of him when I have the whole thing."
She looked inbetween us in confusion as her face started to turn a lovely shade of red, veins popped out of her forehead and then she opened her mouth and screeched, "YOU BITCH!"
She lunged forward to attack me, but Sirius stepped forward to stop her, "I suggest you go somewhere Marlene."
She huffed in annoyance before walking away making me smile in triumph.
Sirius turned to look at me curiously, "What in the hell was that about Claws?"
I felt my smile fall and my face turn red for the billionth time that day as I shrugged and said, "She was getting annoying so I thought I'd end it. Besides you deserve better."
Sirius snorted, "So instead you start a rumor that we are dating? Smart move Claws, what about Remus?"
I raise my eyebrows, "What about him?"
"You know your crush on him?" He said gesturing to said boy.
I looked over to see him talking to Emmeline Vance once again. They had been hanging out quite a bit recently, and have gotten rather close.
I sigh pathetically and turn back to Sirius, "I think that is a thing of the past now. I'll just stick to looking out for my best friend, and his horrible taste in women."
Sirius smiled cheekily at me, "you wouldn't think my taste was so horrible, if you knew who I base it off of."
I felt my heart flutter oddly enough as I ask, "Oh.. and who is that?"
"Minnie of course!"
