It had been a few days since the Kishin woke me, I was exhausted and starving, all I had found over the nights that had passed was enough to feed myself for one day. If anyone had noticed my soul wavelength or the sudden missing morsels from nearby homes or recent offerings at graves around the graveyard, then it was only so long before a meister came to hunt down the Witch of Green-Wood Cemetary. I may not have left my crypt for years before the Kishin, I knew the pitiful campfire stories told of me.

The Witch of Green-Wood Cemetary

Years ago, a young orphan girl who lived across the way from Green-Wood Cemetary was lonely. This girl one night left her orphanage to visit her parents' graves, with a spell in hand. She knelt at her parents' tombstone and lit one, two, three candles and muttered her spell. Her parents stood with her the next day, at the office desk in the orphanage, they left the building and lived on. Over time, the young girl grew cruel, the witch raised herself an army against those who had hurt her, only to be struck down by Lord Death himself. Her familiars fell to dust, and were reburied to never live again. Her body now lays in the largest tomb, at the center of the cemetary. And rumor has it that soon she will rise from the dead and destroy any memory of the town ever existing. So be careful near Green-Wood, or you may be the first soul she steals.

The story wasn't even true, let alone well told. I never raised an army, only my parents, and one of Death's meisters attacked me because she needed a witch soul to turn her imbecilic weapon into a Death Scythe. She never succeeded, and she and her weapon died, which begun the spiral of meisters hunting me down and in turn dying just as she had. It took a few months before Death decided to send one of his best meisters to kill me, so I hid myself away in a tomb, turning my raised parents to dust.

I snapped back to reality when I noticed the madness waver a bit. It took a few minutes without changing before suddenly spinning out of control and stopping. I sighed, I might finally be able to sleep now. I layed down on my stone bed, and shifted once in a while for the next two hours. I couldn't sleep. I sat up and ran my fingers through my silver hair, despite appearing young, I was still aging in other ways, over the years since I went into slumber, my hair slowly turned color from blonde to silver and my eyes from blue to violet. My personality changed as well, I was happy before I was forced to kill so many meisters, then angry most of the time, now I couldn't seem to feel a thing. I turned myself to place my feet on the ground, there were multiple offerings from when I 'died' lying around my crypt, so I decided to search through the dusty wooden boxes. After a few minuted I found a white dress and corset that fit me near perfectly, I decided to leave the corset out as judging by what I've seen in the days I've been searching for food no one wore such attire anymore. The dress was generally loose on my thin body and I noticed extremely faint floral prints on the skirt. I also found an old comb, it was brass and faded, with a few missing gemstones in the lightly rusted decal that graced the end of the handle. I combed out my short hair carefully and approached the door to my tomb. Daylight shone through the cracks between the door and the walls, so I put my ear to the door to listen and see if there was anyone nearby that would notice the door open. After a few moments of silence, I opened the door a bit, slipping out unseen. I reactivated my soul protect before anyone noticed I was a witch and left the cemetary without problem. I guess sleep would have to wait.
