A Reaper?

I strolled along the street, looking to find some money lying on the ground or maybe that someone would give some to me. I didn't have high hopes, however, and was right not to, I had walked the whole town by the time it was 3 p.m. and decided to leave, I didn't need my crypt anymore, so I would leave altogether, before someone recognized me from the stories. I made my way to the edge of town and morphed into a pure white dove. I flew across the desert, releaved that my feathers weren't a darker color. After a few more hours of flying, it was nearly dark, all I could see was wht looked like huge candle flames in the distance, four of them.

I flew closer to the odd light and found a huge castle-like building that just happened to be perfectly symmetrical, the DWMA, and the source of the meister that sent me into hiding. I sighed lightly, God I was tired...I landed on the edge of the city that surrounded the academy, now more than ever I had to keep my soul protect on, until then I had to find a place to sleep.

It was nesr midnight now, I had come across a few kishin, they didn't notice me, but it was frightening nonetheless, after a while I came across another, and a meister, a boy with dark hair, three white stripes on one side of his head. He chased the kishin across the rooftops above me. Next thing I knew I was following the boy. Two minutes of observing past when he had cornered the kishin, it wasn't much longer before he killed the beast with ease. I was intrigued by this one, I felt like I knew him from somewhere...I shook my head, sighing, I couldn't have known him, this was the first time I had ever seen him in my life.

I turned my gaze to the victorious meister, he heard me, his golden eyes were fixed on the rooftop I was hiding on. I slid carefully behind the chimney I was watchig from. "Who's there?" I heard him call, perhaps he had seen me, I held my breath. "Come on, Kid, it was probably just the wind, let's get the kishin-egg and go home! I'm exhausted!" Whined a female voice, I assume it was his weapon, er- one of them, he carried two identical pistols.

"No, I swear I saw something move up there, someone is there, I know it..." his footsteps approached the building, I had to move. Now. I turned into a dove and cooed, flying away silently.

"It was just a birdy! Kid's going crazy!" I heard a far more cheerful voice giggle as I flew away, I was right, twin weapons, no one could wield twin weapons unless they could get the two to resonate properly, he must have been a skilled meister to be able to fight with them.

I found a quiet alley to sleep in, I hid in between some crates so that I wouldn't be found by any kishin, or any meister. I dozed off into a dreamless sleep, my soul left in emptiness for the night.

I woke to light shining into the gap between crates, I stood, stretching my aching muscles, I had to find somewhere else to stay, I dusted off my dress lightly, then set off into the streets. I wandered for a while, it was quite an interesting city, I was tempted to enter a few of the shops, but I had no reason to, it's not like I had any money to buy anything. Suddenly something whizzed past above my head, I looked up to find the boy from the night before flying past on some odd skateboard, "do we really have to do this?" Complained one of the guns, "yes, Liz, of course we have to! Father sent us to investigate a witch at a cemetary in brooklyn, for all we know she's already taken the city!" His voice faded into the distance, Brooklyn? A cemetary? Green-Wood, oh if only they knew.

I continued down the street, idly wandering, lost in thought. Suddenly a voice emerged behind me, "Hi there!" I jumped at the sudden noise, and turned to see a girl with sandy brown hair pulled into thin pigtails, a boy with white hair like mine stood on her left, I instantly knew they were meister and weapon, the girl smiled at me, "are you new here?" I looked around, and found myself at the top of the stairs of the DWMA, shit...I needed an excuse, quick.

"U-um, yeah! Well I guess, I was just gonna register!" I blushed lightly, lame excuse.

"Oh, do you need help finding the Death Room? It's easy to get lost here, trust me." I hesitantly nodded, god damn it, now I had to register at a school that was out to kill me, great, just great. "Let's go then, I'm Maka, by the way, and this is Soul" she gestured to the white haired boy, who muttered "'sup what's you're name?" She was too kind...she'd never get anywhere like this.

"I'm...Seikatsu..." why did I tell her my real name?! Damn it Seikatsu, stop being such an idiot! She'd know you were a witch for sure now!

"Nice to meet you, Seikatsu, the Death room is just up ahead, do you have a place to stay in Death City?" She tilted her head at me as we approached a door on our right, I shook my head, here's to hoping... "Oh, well you can stay with me and Soul until you find a place if you like, we don't have an extra room, though..." Yes! A place to stay! Perfect! "It's okay, I can sleep on the couch if need be." We stopped in front of the door, Maka smiled and nodded lightly, then we opened the door and stepped through. Wait a minute...where did Soul go?

It didn't matter, what mattered was finding a way out of this conundrum. We made our way down the path lined with guillotines and found ourselves in a room with a large platform in the center, a full-length mirror at the other end of the platform and the Grim Reaper himself standing in front of it. "Hiya! Howdy! How's it goin' Maka?" His voice made me cringe, it's been a while, and last time I saw him in person his voice surely didn't sound like that.

"My friend Seikatsu wants to register for the academy, do we have space?" Maka gestured to me and I waved shyly.

"Seikatsun eh? An interesting name, of course we have space! Are you a weapon or a meister, Seikatsu?" He turned to me, his goofy mask made me smile.

"Meister, sir." I replied, I couldn't turn into any sort of weapon so this was the simplest choice in the world.

"Good, good! Maka, can you show her around? She'll be registered for classes by tomorrow!" He turned back to Maka, who nodded and smiled at me, gesturing to follow her as she strolled back toward the door. Well, no going back now...

We had made our way passed the infirmary when we bumped into the dark-haired boy again, two girls standing on either side of him, one was shorter with a bobbed hair cut and he other's hair fell to her upper back and was about a foot taller than her more cheery counterpart. "Hi, Kid! How's it going?" Maka asked, waving cheerfully at the boy, 'Kid' i assume.

"Well, you?" He had a smug, serious look on his face, as if he was above everyone at the school, rude.

"Pretty good, have you seen Soul anywhere? He disappeared when Seikatsu and I were on our way to the Death Room." She gestured to me, Kid barely shifted his eyes to look me up and down, was he analyzing me? Jeez, he seemed stuck-up, I hated those people.

"No, I haven't, last I saw of him was in class. Seikatsu, I don't think I've heard of you before. Are you new to the DWMA?" He asked me, one eyebrow raised in curiosity, what's woth the sudden interest? Had he figured out I was a witch? Crap...

"Yeah, I'm new. A meister. You?" I tilted my head, my arms crossed over my chest, standing tall, instincts I guess?

"Meister, these are my weapons," he used his thumbs to point over each shoulder at the two girls beside him, "Liz and Patty." The girls waved, the cheery one giggled as she did so, surprise susprise. We continued to chat for a couple of minutes before Kid had to go, something about speaking with his father, Lord Death?! He was a reaper?! No wonder he was so skilled, he's probably been training since he was small! It also explains why he was sent looking for me at Green-Wood. At his level he would have been able to defeat me easily in my weakened, tired state. We finished the tour and Maka brought me to her and Soul's apartment. It wasn't long after dinner that we had gotten an extra blanket and pillow set up on the couch for me, I thanked Maka and she warned me that I should probably show up early to school the next day to get a weapon and my timetable. God, this was going to take a while to get out of...
