I qoke up in a bright room, recognizing it at the DWMA's infirmary, I tried to stand. Pain shot through my side and I laid back down. I placed a hand on my wound and tried to heal it, with no luck, I almost forgot that I can only heal other people. I heard someone sit up quietly and turned to see Kid, looking groggy, but otherwise fine. I sighed in relief, he heard and looked over at me, his eyes widening. "Seikatsu!" He leapt from the bed and examined my wounds, worried. I chuckled.
"Kid, I'll be fine." I said quietly, raising a hand to touch his cheek, he still looked worried, but he trusted me.
"Alright...I'm going to go find the others. I'll be right back." He moved my hair out of my face and stood, rushing out of the room to find the gang.
"Ah, young love," the voice made me jump, I turned to see Nygus in the corner, writing something on a clipboard.
"What do you mean by that?" I blushed, Nygus chuckled and stood, strolling over to my bed and straightening the covers.
"You just get some rest. It will be a few days before you can go back to class." I sighed as she left, now alone in the room, I thought about it a minute.
Did Kid really love me?
It didn't matter...I guess...we were safe now, that's what counts. I dozed off and I don't know how long I was asleep, but I woke to Kid gently tapping my shoulder, careful not to touch any wounds. "You're back!" I said tiredly, smiling, I tried to sit up again, but again winced and layed back down, pain shooting through my side once more.
"Be more careful, darling, or it won't heal." Darling? Did he really just call me that? BlackStar rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
"Why can't she just heal herself?" He asked annoyedly, I glared at him, then rolled my eyes as well. Maka hit him in the head with a book and he fell over, I briefly worried if he was ok.
"Magic rules, stupid, but law." I sighed, not that I followed half the other magic rules, it was just that when I first healed myself one of the gorgon witches placed a sigil on me, the inly one that actually followed the rules at the time. I can't remember her name. Maka and Soul had to go to class, Tsubaki went with them, BlackStar pretended to follow them, but later I heard hurried footsteps down the hall in the other direction. He was skipping. Again. Kid stayed put and just sat there in the chair next to my bed. Liz and Patty were there too, but left later when school ended. "Why aren't you going with them?" I asked Kid, curious, not that I was complaining.
"Because." ...ok...not an answer, but at least he spoke, since he woke me he's pretty much been silent. I grew worried.
"Why have you been so quiet?" He looked over at me, then back at the wall ahead of him, deep in thought.
"Seikatsu, how long were you asleep for?" He asked, oh lord, I didn't remember. It was at least a decade but at the same time it felt like only five years at most.
"I...don't know..." I replied, "I haven't thought about it much since I arrived at Death City. Honestly I didn't know when I would wake up when i layed the spell, all I know is that I was only 10. Unfortunately the spell slowed my aging excessively so I don't know how long it took me to age to what I am now." The longer I thought about it, the more it confused me.
Kid thought a moment, perhaps he remembered something, but he shook the thought away and turned to me. "I'm going to ask Nygus if you can come home until you're healed. I'll be right back." And with that, he left, leaving me in silence once more. I closed my eyes and focused on the area around me, absorbing the light of the room, dimming it, it slowly began to heal my wounds, I sat up, wincing at the pain but still able to handle it. I lowered the covers to find my torso bound in bandages, my black brassiere exposed. I slowly stood and looked around for a spare shirt, finding nothing. Suddenly I heard the door open. "Seika-" kid started, I could almost hear our collective embarrassment. "OH MY GOD IM SO SORRY I DIDNT MEAN TO-"
"calm down, Kid!" I tried to sound calm, "just close the door and bring me a shirt, then you can tell me what you needed to, ok?" My cheeks were flushed bright red as I lifted the blanket from the bed to cover my small frame. Kid turned and closed the door, face as red as mine. I could hear Patty giggling from the other side of the door. God damn it. I sighed as I plopped back down on the bed. What was I thinking?! I knew he was coming back, why didn't I cover myself with the blanket before looking around?! Idiot! He probably thought I was ugly, too, great job, Seikatsu! Just perfect!
