First Mission

On monday Brit and I decided to go out on our first mission, I was confident in my abilities with the "BladeDancer" mode as me and Brit called it, this was the sword form she had and we had been practicing since the day after we met, not to mention if things went bad I could release my soul protect and use magic to get us back on track. I should probably explain my magical power...huh?...

I am a witch who can bend light to do as I wish, therefore I can light an area, blind an opponent, or use beams of light with high heat to attack. I cna also use sustaining magic, which I used to keep from starving when I was in my crypt, I can also obviously use Soul Protect, and I can heal wounds as well. I need a second soul wavelength to use the attack magic, like a soul resonance thing. Luckily now I had Brit with me.

Now that that's over with, we were standing before the mission board, looking through the 3-star missions, since that was as high as the woman behind the desk said she would allow.

We found a mission that had three witch souls available, the witches were weak, which is probably why it was a 3-star instead of any higher.  We went to the Desk and requested the mission, then set out to Ireland to kill Banphrionsa, Máthair, and Caillí.

We got to the woods that the triplets supposedly dwelled in, Brit took her combat knife form and we set out toward the old willow they were usually sighted near. We heard a twig snap, and Brit changed to her sniper rifle, I heard a sob and aimed in the direction of it, "p-please don't hurt me..." a girl about 3 years younger than me staggered from the trees. I knew her. Her tricks wouldn't work on me.

"Drop the game, Banphrionsa." She instantly stopped at my spiteful words, and flashed her usual devilish grin. Disappearing into thin air, she giggled, I grumbled, I never liked that witch...we continued on only to hear another voice.

"Help! I've fallen! I can't stand!" Said an elderly woman, a few yards away. I aimed Brit in the woman's direction, night-vision scope activated, I thought so. Caillí. I shot her in the head, only to look back and find that she was gone.

"Damn it." I muttered through my clenched teeth. I jogged forward a bit, not bothering to keep quiet. We found the willow and heard a screech, followed by two more, here we go. They all appeared, in their true forms, the triple goddess, as they called themselves, all in white cloaks, levitating around the tree, pale skin, blood red hair that fell to their mid backs, and glowing golden eyes, the basis of their magic was moonlight, and the shadows it created. Máthair could move the moonlight while the others used the shadows to their advantage. I already knew all thair tricks, their weakness was light. "Brit. BladeDancer." She transformed in a flash of magenta light, the triple goddess flinched at the brightness.

"So..." Banphrionsa began.

"You take the side of the Reaper, Seikatsu?" Máthair continued.

"We always knew you were a traitor." Caillí added.

They screeched again and the shadows bent, the moonlight left the area so that the shadows could stay hidden. Let's end this. I listened closely, I heard a whoosh next to me, and swung, I felt the blade hit one of the shadows, and I continued to attack it, when it retreated, I listened again.

"Ah, I see, the young witch is in love..." Máthair taunted.

"Is this why she betrayed her family?" Banphrionsa asked with fake-innocence.

"She left us behind to rot. Simply for her own whims." Caillí explained. They were using their sight magic. Damn it! Get out of my head!

I listened closer, hearing the velvetty fabric of a white cloak shift. Right behind me. I flipped Brit to an under-hand position and thrust her in the direction the noise came from, I felt the impact, and pressed further, piercing the flesh of one of the witches. Máthair screeched, her voice faded into a whimper behind me. "Fool." I muttered, pulling the sword from her stomach I turned and swung it at her throat, lifting the weight of her head from her shoulders. Her body turned to shadows and eventually disappeared, revealing a glowing purple soul. I stowed it in my bag and the moonlight returned, the other two levitated still next to the willow.

"TRAITOR!" they both screeched in unison, charging at me. Pathetic without their precious sister. Brit took spear form and I spun her in one hand, I blocked Caillí's attack with ease. Using the other end of the spear to block Banphrionsa's. I spun Brit the opposite way, slicing Caillí's cheek, dark red blood dripped down her neck as I thrust the edge of the spear at Banphrionsa, landing a solid hit on her collarbone. She made a guttural choking noise before falling to the ground and returning to dust just as Máthair had. Brit transformed back into BladeDancer as I swung back at the stunned Caillí, slicing open her stomach, she coughed blood and copied her sisters. Brit transformed back into her human form and comsumed the two souls, I pulled the third from my pack.

"Should we jar this one? Give it away or something?" I asked Brit.

"Nuuuu, gimme gimme!" She snatched it and ate it too.

I sighed and rolled my eyes. "Yeah, I guess that was a stupid question." And with that we made our way back to the academy.

When we got back we were practically radiating confidence, we just beat three witches with ease, wasn't helping any possible suspicions anyone might have about me, but it was good to show we were loyal. I think it's time we got some rest.
