It had now been a few weeks since Mum arrived in Death City, and she was a big help at the Academy. We've already apprehended and eliminated two dozen witches and counting, and the kishins were going even faster. Everyone was working their hardest to locate my father, but so far there was no luck. Kid seemed far more on-edge than usual, and the other teams were almost always hanging around the mission board to find a job that may make a more significant difference than just temporarily knocking out a kishin or witch. If we killed either type of hostile they would just show up again within 2 weeks of their death, so we've been trying to capture them more than anything. so we've hired people to make traps to aid the weapons and meisters in their missions. Kid and I were out on a mission with my mother, as her trap spells seemed to be the least complicated and most efficient way to apprehend witches and kishin. in fact, we were just about to capture some poor-excuse for a witch who was practically just human after however many times she's been reanimated by my father. Brit and I had weakened her enough for my mother to capture her and Kid had Liz and Patty aimed directly at the weak witch in case she tried to escape, once I got out of the vicinity mum chanted her familiar incantation and the witch disappeared, glowing chains surrounding the purple orb that remained. the witch wasn't dead, just restrained.
We arrived at the academy just in time to see the calamity ensue. My father hovered over the castle-like structure, staring down at it, as if looking for something, he was too far away for Kid to aim at and hit him without us being noticed, so Brit took her sniper rifle form and I aimed carefully at the back of his neck, there was no need to aim any higher or lower since it wasn't real bullets, but it didn't matter how I aimed or when I shot, because before I could pull the trigger, he raised his arm and a rumble shook the ground beneath our feet. A huge blue light immediately appeared, shrinking down almost instantly until a form appeared in it, millions of bright shards of light pulled themselves together into a thin form, pretty much right in front of us.A quiet, familiar voice pierced the silence, causing Kid's eyes to widen, the sound of his voice sent chills up my spine...I could almost feel it...
"Where is...Lord Death...?"
The Madness. The light faded to reveal Asura himself, completely unscathed. Impossible. Kid almost immediately activated Soul Resonance and aimed the Death Cannon at Asura, in hopes to take him by surprise. Asure floated into the air just as Kid fired, unintentionally dodging the attack. He turned to us, as did my father.
"Ah, you've decided to join us, I see." my father lowered to Asura's level to face us directly, Asura glanced at him suspiciously, but then turned his gaze back to us. "Unfortunately, we have other plans." Father muttered spitefully, but seconds after that almost every 4-5 star ranked meister and weapon in the school rushed outside to surround the two, Lord Death joining soon after, Death Scythe in hand.
"Hey, Grim! We were looking for you, I didn't expect you to come straight to our doorstep." Death said mock-cheerfully, "And Kishin Asura, you look well." It was almost intimidating to see how Lord Death could keep his cool in this situation, but then again, this was Lord Death. Rather than returning the greeting, my father chanted an incantation and Asura's eyes wet almost black, a low growl escaping his throat. A control spell. Asura attacked Lord Death ruthlessly, his powers boosted by Grim. Lord Death managed to block and dodge the worst of the hits, only getting out of the first wave with a few tears in his cloak. Unfortunately this would change quickly, and for the worst...
