Week 1
"How much do you think a treadmill cost?" I ask Christopher while Olivia got out of the car.
She quickly ran to my door and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I did the same thing and fixed her skirt, since she always leaves with her uniform all messed up.
"Have a nice day." I say hugging her. "And follow the rules! No likes a misbehaving child."
"I know." She giggles and leaves.
"Why do you always say things like that to her?" He asks sighing.
"Answer my question first." I reply.
"Why do you want to know how much a treadmill costs?" He asks pulling out of the parking lot of the elementary school.
"Just answer the question already." I whisper kicking him.
"I don't know Katherine." He replies rolling his eyes. "How am I supposed to know that?" He asks annoyed. "And besides," He whispers turning left. "We already have one."
"We do?" I ask excited staring at him.
"Yes." He says looking at me with a weird expression. Like I was crazy. "If you didn't spend every waking moment inside of your room, and actually payed attention to what goes around in the house, you would know that my father has his own gym."
I look at him from the corner of my eyes. He has that need to always be the know it all that's right. I never leave my room because that's not my house, I feel like a stranger there and walking through it feels strange.
"Fuck you." I whisper rolling my eyes and raising the volume of the radio.
Knowing that Damien has his own gym is the best news ever. His fortune is useful to me now. It's good to know that he spends some of it in things that are worth spending.
Christopher turns the radio off and I stare at him angrily. "Why?" I ask turning it back on.
"You didn't answer my question." He says turning it off again.
"What question?" I ask playing dumb and turning it on again. "Turn it off and I will cut your balls off."
He went to do it and I quickly slapped his hand, before he could even touch it. We began fighting, like we do every morning, and I sigh. He can really fight over nothing.
"I don't want her to turn out like our father." I quickly say, happy that we made it to the school already.
"What?" He asks seriously, looking at me. I never talk about my father, specially not with him.
I get out of the car fast and close the door leaving him inside, but he quickly got out.
"What did you say?" He asks staring at me.
"You ask to answer the question." I say. "So, I did, I'm not saying it twice."
"I heard what you said Katherine."
I stare at him, frowning, then why is he asking me to say it twice. Is he stupid? I take a step back and stumble into someone, who was getting out of the car next to us.
"You don't walk anymore?" Says Nate with his cocky smile.
"You have a car?" I ask staring at it. A really expensive one; knowing that he had an Audi made me like him a little less. He's probably like Christopher and his whole gang.
"Of course, I do." He says locking it. "I walked last Friday as a punishment from my parents for crashing my old car, but they bought me a new one yesterday." He replies shrugging.
"Oh." Was all I said disliking him more by the second.
"Um, hello?" Says Christopher walking up to us. "Our conversation is not over." He whispers to me while staring at Nate's car.
"Oh yes, it is." I reply walking away.
"Nice ride dude." He tells him checking it out. "Don't forget we live together!" He shouts, but I don't turn around to look at him, and I continue ignoring him.
I enter the building and went to my locker. Happy to see Eva and Jeremy next to it.
"Are you in a mood today?" Eva asks quietly.
"No." I say laugh and she smiles relieve.
"Told you!" She says, punching Jeremy in the arm.
"Ow!" He shouts glaring at her. "It's nice to know that you won't be acting weird today." He says hugging me.
"Fuck you guys." I say laughing and closing my locker.
We made our way to our classroom, but I made a small detour to the bathroom before going in. I knew I made a mistake the moment I saw Melanie inside, staring at herself in the mirror, with two of her friends.
I enter a stall, ignoring her, not wanting to start arguing with her; but when I finished peeing and I saw her still inside, I knew she wanted trouble.
"Hey." She says grinning.
"What do you want Melanie?" I ask washing my hands.
"Why are you always so rude?" She asks, pretending to be hurt.
I roll my eyes and went to the door, but one of her minions stood in front of it, making it impossible to go out.
"So," She says crossing her arms. "You become rich, get a hot brother and suddenly you're the shit."
"What are you talking abo-
"It's quite impressive." She whispers. "My only question is," she says walking closer to me. "What on earth did Christopher's father saw on your mother?"
"Shut up!" I shout pushing her. "Don't talk about my family, and especially not my mother." I was angry now, furious.
"Don't touch me." She snaps, taking a step back. "Didn't your parents teach you some manners? I know that having a father for you is something new, but it's not polite to touch people like that."
I sigh wanting to punch her, but she began talking again, before I could do something.
"I mean," She continues playing with her hair. "Who is your mother? She's no one, just another gold digger coming into this town. I bet she's just as disgusting and fat as you!" She shouts, and with that she left the bathroom.
Leaving me alone in this room, knowing that everyone was just the same in this stupid school. Does money make everyone mean and disrespectful?
I turn to look at myself in the mirror, cleaning the few tears that escaped my eyes. Maybe if I was skinny and prettier, people in this school wouldn't judge me this much.
